A few questions

Hey everyone I just had a couple of questions that I hoped you could help me out with. I have been extremely busy with work this summer so I haven't had much time to read through the forums at all these past months. Nonetheless, I will be heading to Orlando on Wednesday and wanted to know a few things upon planning my trip.

First, my family plans on heading to Hollywood Studios on Saturday August 27. In the past few years we have always headed directly to retrieve Toy Story Mania fastpasses upon opening and then hit up ToT and RnR. However, I was curious as to what type of waits we should expect for the newly revamped Star Tours. Any suggestions or tips on how to attack the park upon opening would be greatly appreciated.

And secondly, upon our trip to the Magic Kingdom we hope to arrive at 9am for the opening ceremony at the train station as we have never been there early enough. However, the date we have planned is an EMH morning from 8-9 and we are not resort guests. Does anyone know if they will still hold the ceremony despite the fact that resort guests are already inside the park?

As far as your HS plan goes, stick to it! You may want to either get Star Tours FPs or check the wait time after you score your Toy Story Mania FPs. Sorry I can't be of any help for your MK day. We opted to go when the EMH were from 11-2! Enjoy your trip!

According to my wait time apps the longest wait at Star Tours has been about 25-30 minutes for the past few weeks or so. You maybe able to hit that up later in the day after Toy Story. Hope this helps.

I've noticed the same thing. Waits for ST2 seem to be very manageable. I wonder if that's because a) the ride has a very large ability to move a very large number of people in a very short period of time, thus keeping the waits low or 2) the ride just isn't attracting that many folks.

either way, IMHO, get the TSMM passes first, then tour ST2, TOT or RnRC while you're waiting.

Have a blast.

Since it has reopened, they have been running all 6 simulators, and they are pushing a lot of people through the queue. I've seen the queue full all the way through the Ewok Village, and still only waited for 15 minutes when it was posted as 45 on the board. It definitely is popular.

As for tips, if you ride Star Tours in the evening, the wait will only be about 5 minutes. You can walk off and get right back on, which is a bonus if you're trying to see as many destinations as you can.

Thanks for all your answers guys! I'll probably fastpass TSM first and then hit up the other attractions. Leaving in two days very excited!
