A few Questions for my next trip in Jan.

when would illuminations start at epcot when the park stays open until midnight and when the park stays open until 9:00 p.m.?

what time do you make a reservation to rose & crown pub in hopes of getting patio seating for illuminations? (if you can do this)

how would people rate the food at biergarden at epcot?

how would people rate the food at tangierine cafe at epcot?

How is the food at yak and yeti at AK?

1. Epcot is almost always open until 9 unless you are there on New Years eve as well. If you are referring to the midning close for EMH, the park does officially close at 9. Illuminations is shown at 9 on those nights as usual so all park guests can enjoy it.

2. You should make a reservation anywhere within an hour before showtime. However, there is never a guarantee that you will be able to get a table on the patio (obviously most people are looking to get these spots).

3. You will hear mixed things on Biergarten. I personally really like the place and think that it is enjoyable. It won't be the best food you find on property, but the atmosphere makes it very nice. You can check out the reviews on this site and see what people think.

4. Tangeriene is also a favorite quick serve of mine, but again you will hear mixed opinions. If you are a fan of the type of food, then you should like this place. They also give you niced size portions consdering the slightly higher cost.

5. I have eaten at the Table and Counter Serve here. I thought Table serve was good, but it isn't one of the best on property. I do enjoy the counter serve location (big fan of asian style food), so I think that it is one of the better choices in the park.

We had reservations at Rose & Crown for 8pm, I checked in at the podium at 7.3o and asked if we could sit outside, I was given a patio table at 8.20, yes its a bit of a wait but it was worth it.

Doing the same again this year, fingers crossed.

Just weighing in on Biergarten - food was ok, but not great. Lots of meats and potato type salads. You'll likely find something you can enjoy, but don't load up on something if you arent sure.

What makes this place a must see is the theme and entertainment. They did an excellent job with making you feel like you are outside in the fall and I enjoyed the band and show immensely. IMO the band alone is worth the visit.

However, there's still no guarantee. You may have gotten lucky with servers who knew some people weren't sticking around for Illuminations. I've eaten there with Slappette 5 times (including once with our li'l Slapperina). 4 times we were seated outside no problem. The one time I had to beg them to let us sit outside, after trying to seat us inside, was the night I was popping the question. Slappette thought I was being a tad immature, wanting what I wanted...until the flowers arrived and the champagne and I got down on one knee. Then it all seemed very...very corny. But I suppose in a good way since she said yes.
