A Few Epcot Project Updates

One of my friends went to a group meeting with the Epcot VP and some Epcot directors and they gave a pep talk and some pixie dust reinforcing the 4 important Disney principles. Then they talked about upcoming projects but didn't provide a lot of detail. Most things were already discussed on here.

New or upcoming projects:

Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure (Replacing Kim Possible)

Italy building a Wine Cellar

France will be building a new Bakery

The bakery is one I was not aware of. Are we talking a refurb of the existing or something new?

Like I said, they didn't give a lot of detailed info, but it seems like they want a bigger and newer place but I don't know if that just means expanding the current place probably into the Train Station or just building a new one, they also said something about maybe expanding the perfume shop also.

The bakery has always had issues with being a little too popular for its space. It will be interesting to see how and where they shoehorn it in.

Phineas and Ferb are alot more popular, although I do love Kim Possible.

That attraction in DLP is going to be amazing! I would not be knocking something that has only begun to be constructed :shrug:

They will most likely expand into the gift shop, that gift shop is so sparse with merchandise.

The bakery could definetely be expanded. Glad to hear they are probably going to be addressing the capacity issues there!

I hope they add a few new effects with P&F, but something tells me that is not the case . . .

I just hope that any closing for the bakery doesn't come during my end of Nov/beginning of Dec trip this year!!!!! I need my chocolate mousse!!!!

I agree, waiting in line at the bakery can be an experience in claustrophobia from the sheer number of people, but I can't imagine where they are going to expand it, considering its location. The smaller perfume shop at the front doesn't have a lot of extra space, but the larger (Guerlain, I think?) space at the back is pretty large, but it's on the opposite side of the pavilion.

Oh, I just realized that the "gift shop" being referred to is the one the movie dumps out into. For sure, that one can afford to give up some space to the bakery! There's not a lot there except Kidcot and some tshirts and Eiffel Towers! (unlike the shop with the wine and kitchen things--I hope they don't mess with that one!).

How about they don't attach a character to the interactive future world game so they don't have to worry about popularity loss

::sigh:: Still no love in sight for Future World. I think if they could, they'd bulldoze Future World and shift Test Track and Soar'n somewhere into the World Showcase.

World Showcase is fine as is, none of these projects really interest me and I do not really think they will be game changers for anyone. I wouldn't choose Epcot over MK because they expanded the bakery (hypothetically speaking, I love Epcot).
TDO should invest over at Future World, it shows its date.
