So I'm thinking about going to one of the auditions at WDW next month. They're auditioning for character lookalikes and parade movers. I know they have very strict appearance standards, and a certain "look" they hire for. So I've got a few questions for those in the know, so I can make a good first impression.
First: they say in their dress code that hair cannot be an "extreme" style. Currently, my hairstyle is short and spiky in the back with bangs in front that part to the side and are slightly assymetrical in length. It's not outrageous, and it works fine at my retail job (which also has a conservative dress code), but would it be too much for Disney? I'll change it if I have to, but I love my current style and would like to keep it if I can.
Secondly, I hear that face characters should have no major defining features, like moles. I have a beauty mark on my cheek and another on my chin. Aaaand, slso on my chin is a weird birthmark. It's almost the same color as my skin, but it's raised and bumpy. Are these things deal-breakers? Will they take one look at my face and write me off? Should I look into getting the birthmark removed before I even think about trying out? I don't want to go to all the trouble of going down there and auditioning only to have them dismiss me the moment I walk in the door!
Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance^-^
