what a vacation from your childhood may have been like....

As you walk past the turnstiles at the Magic Kingdom, you first hit the "Disney Story"....you then proceed to the magic shop and penny arcade for some fun.....stopping next at the main street cinema for a showing of Steam Boat Willie......you then procceed to Tomorrowland for a trip to mars, then a 360 movie and a trip around the world on eastern airlines....after a look into the past, present and future at that carousel, you then board the Star Jets and a trip around the Land on walts dream...a skyway trip is next, then its off to the sea....20,000 leages under it to be exact....crashing and burning into buildings with that toad, you start to get hungry....Adventureland Veranda hits the spot, you catch the show....diamond horseshoe that is....thank god you had reservations....a trip on the Keelboats is next....but your river view is not complete without vistiting Davy Crocket first.....then its off the the Village for some pleasent and Quite shopping.....

DAY 2

you split day 2 up...first half to Discovery Island, second half to River Country....then returning to your "tree house" for a good nights sleep....

What a story to tell my kids:
Driving what seemed for an eternity to WDW. Going for just one day because that's all your parents could afford. Then picking what rides to go on because your parents could only afford the cheapest ticket book available. And riding the free ones over and over because you didn't want to use all of the tickets by 12 noon.
FYI---to our younger members: the free ones were, If you had wings, the Carousel of Progress, and the current 360 CircleVision showing at the time, and the Diamond HorseShoe Revue. The year:1976.

Wow... that's old school. I loved "If You Had Wings"

Damn... wow. That was crazy. Remember how SE used to be? With Cronkite? I can't even remember what happened after you turned backwards... I wish I did.

Heh...

I do remember,

First if I'm not mistaken innoventions was called communicore east and west,

after turning in SE you saw a hugh white city with elevators and lights, (when you see the darkness today) and then was this song tommorow's chiled while decsending down and fiber optic lights (it was top notch then)

true, horizons was cool and also WOM but test trek ain't bad, and hopfully Space won't be either,
I am sorry that they cut beauty and the beast show short.

Here's one from...let's say...1992!

Day 1: Magic Kingdom
You enter the park, have a nice stroll through Main Street. Pick a balloon. Get some cotton candy.

You enter Adventureland on this hot afternoon...and you enter the Tropical Serenade. You enjoy the 17 minute show. Right?? I said...RIGHT???? :D A very tropical experience. You head over to the Jungle Cruise. You wait about an hour...but then go get a Dole Whip to cool you down.

You're off to Frontierland. You walk through a construction wall and notice Splash Mountain having its finishing touches. You head over to the Country Bears instead. They just changed it back to the original show - so you finally get to hear Blood on the Saddle.

Off to the Hall of Presidents. And you notice George Bush. Haunted Mansion and Pirates have been down for rehab. So, it's off to the Realm of Fantasyland. Most of the rides have hour-long waits...so you decide to do Peter Pan's Flight and "it's a small world."

But by late afternoon, you are able to do a few things in Tomorrowland. Dreamflight is a few years new - and the whole family is able to relax on this serenading flight around the world and into the future. Then, before it gets dark, a nice trip on the WedWay Peoplemover since the Carousel of Progress is down for rehab to change for New Tomorrowland. Which you wonder what that means, of course.

DAY 2: EPCOT
You enter bright and early, taking a tram to the ticket station. Entering, there are the bright colored flowers in front of Spaceship Earth. But, the attractions is down for rehab to add Jeremy Irons. "Will the Tomorrow Child song stay?" you ask.

So you go to Future World East. What to experience? Why, let's head over to the World of Motion. But wait! It's starting to drizzle! Time to put your raincoats on. So follow the Japanese tour group and enter the World of Motion.

In the reddish waiting area, and on to the ride. Looking out at Horizons and the Universe of Energy, you know this will be a great day. On the ride, you start to see the footprints - and the caveman blowing his foot! Later, the dragon looking into the sailor's eye. And then the park - and finally, the giant speedrooms - with lava flowing around you. And then, the future city - where you see your family in a future car! But it's not over yet: you take photos in the Transcenter and enjoy the five minute comedy, the Bird and Robot!

But it's time for Horizons. So you enter the diamond pavilion this fine morning with your family. Hearing the theme song, you're ready for the inspiring ride. It's into your vehicles - and through the dreams of Jules Verne, the funny robots - even the Future from the 50s...and finally, the giant Omnisphere! Going through the DNA chain makes you dizzy - and then the space shuttle going up gives you a thrill of exhilaration! But it's through space, desert, and sea we go until we get to choose your own ending. Which one do you want to pick? How about desert...no, space. Exiting through the crystal walkways, you hear the tune of New Horizons - you'll want to come back here one day.

Then it's off to Wonders of Life! This is brand new, you think to yourself. Cranium Command is funny - and your younger family members get a kick out of the Anacomical Players - but everyone enjoys the cycles! It's on to the Universe of Energy, which you find fun, but not as entertaining as some of the other attractions. However, the theme songs are inspiring - and everyone gets a kick out of the dinosaurs in the trip to see where the fossil fuels have come from.

But, after leaving, you realize that there is so much more! By now, it is early afternoon, and you go to the Journey into Imagination - but not quite yet! You sit down around the blue pavilion, watching the light colored fountains, enjoying a Mickey Mouse Ice Cream bar. And then to the ride! The interior is painted with all kinds of pretty colors - with giant murals. And entering the blue cars, you enter the clouds...we hear our Dreamfinder whistle, and then enter to see his blimp. Figment is introduced - and we are ready to Journey into the Imagination - after we store our thoughts in the dreamport, where we enjoy looking up at the giant tea pot...and around us at the clapping hands and weird gadgets! The work of art, you find one of your favorite scenes. The giant murals and plants are amazing, this is pure Imagination! However, the mystery section gets the kids a little nervous - but not for long! We dive into the worlds of theater and science, and the music picks up. With a flash, we enter the finale scene with Figment singing that inspiring tune which you will never forget! At the end, Dreamfinder shows us our pictures - who put the bunny ears behind you?!

And it's up to the ImageWorks. You start out by aiming your giant paintbrush at Figment closing a monsters book...and you can still get a good whiff of that smell - the Morning Mist. The younger children act in the Space episode of Dreamfinder's School of Drama - and everyone looks on to see the performers! Through the rainbow corridor - the colors follow you! And into the Catch Me! Figment booths...and then the stepping tones. What is complete without the computer screens? Color a pretty picture, and then play with the pin tables. But don't leave without the Electronic Philharmonic! It's right there for you to conduct the most imaginative orchestra ever! But, to see the Land, you have to go down the elevator. So you descend, while the children race you while doing the stairs.

It's a nice afternoon, and after eating a dinner in the Farmer's Market, you ride Listen to the Land. In the queue area, you notice the giant flowers...and its on to the ride and the greenhouse. You pop open the apple-juice "Squeezits" after the ride, and then rush into the Kitchen Kabaret! Suddenly, you're sparkled into Bonnie Apetite's world of the Kitchen Krackpots - then the fresh Dairy's - the Cereal Sisters - the hilarious Ham n Eggz - and then the grand Veggie Fruit Fruit! After the grand finale, you appreciate nutrition more than ever - and whistle "veggie fruit fruit" out through the exits...where you notice lights in the shapes of nutritional delights.

The day will be ending soon...so you decide to visit the Living Seas, where you are able to ride the hydrolaters...and even a small ride through aquariums...but you really get into World Showcase. The Canada film is inspiring, but you really enjoy the American Adventure, especially on this fine afternoon! El Rio Del Tiempo proves relaxing, as night-time falls. But you have to go to work the next day, you realize, so it's time to go. You really wanted to visit an attraction again, some of them you will never see again.

But you had a great time. And you will never forget it.

What's up with the "R.I.P. Timekeeper " though?

Is Timekeeper really gone??? :(

It's probable: longtime rumor, it's not open by about the 2nd most crowded week of the year, and components are being removed. But remember, as we learned from Timekeeper, nothing's impossible...

I remember my first WDW upset...
The first park of the trip was to be Epcot Center! I was so excited b/c I was going to get to ride SE and I had just gotten the soundtrack of the parks and "Tomorrow's Child" was my favorite song on the tape. As I enter the park, I find that SE has been closed for refurbishment and wouldn't be open until that friday (our last day there). So we go on rides and I have a good time. Friday comes along and we make a special trip to Epcot to ride the "new" SE. To my disappointment, "Tomorrow's Child" was no longer in the ride. :(

1975, I am six years old and we have just driven from Rhode Island. My first trip to the world!! I can remember standing inside of our hotel (Travel Lodge LBV) and I am looking out the window at the rain and saying out loud "What did I do to deserve this!!" We take the car to the park for the first time and like wow "Look at the castle"!! Off to tomorrowland and guess what "Your too short to ride any of the rides!!" Try the teacups!! Have to buy a Mickey!!! "Can we go back to the hotel and go in the pool?". I guess you could say that I have fragments of memories of that trip!! I do know that I got lost because I followed my dad to the bathroom and didn't tell my mom or sister where I was going (of course my dad knew I was right there)! Just imagine if dad didn't see me, I could of grown up in Disney!! Ok, I am rambling now. Sorry!!:)

Good stories! :) If you have kids, they are experiencing there memories of WDW now. Though they may be different from ours, they are still magical.

my favorite thing to do was play at the imageworks at Imagination. My 2 favorites were the bubble machines and coloring figment on the screen.
I loved Magic Kingdom, but there was something about Epcot that truly reinforced the fact that i was at wdw.
I also miss choosing my ending on Horizons.

Damn, i miss old school Epcot Center.
