A Current Affair

I was just channel surfing and came across A Current Affair, and they have a section of the broadcast devoted to Disneyland: THE TRAGIC KINGDOM?, I only caught part of the broadcast, but they were basically making it sound like all the deaths were Disney's fault, including the Gang shooting that happened in the parking lot. If anyone gets a change to catch this, let me know how the whole thing was, I only was able to see about 5 minutes or so.
They also made Disney sound like they tried to cover up a couple of the accidents that happened, like the one about the Columbia sailing ship when it was docking and the metal piece went flying and killed someone. Just have to love the timing of stuff like this. I wonder who owns A Current Affair? :drevil:

The only two accidents that truly are Disneyland's fault are the Sailing Ship columbia cable snapping, and the BTMRR accident. Everything else is because of guests carelessness.

OK, I've searched the forums and the web and I cant find anything about a "gang shooting" at the parks.

What did I miss? Nothing I hope.

That would be Rupert Murdock. Don't trust anything you see or hear on Fox.

So speaks the Liberal Left. Wake-up! Disney is a wonderful place with
amazing rides and attractions, run and serviced by human beings. People
sometimes make mistakes, are having a bad day, or are just lazy. Disney
may not technically be at fault, but it is a reality of any business that is as big as Disney. Mistakes happen and trying to blame the injured is not always
the way to go.

I saw the ad for that story last night... unfortunately I was stuck in a final when it aired today. Grr.

However, I'm not surprised to hear that they tried to make Disney look evil. That was the vibe I got from the ad.

A Current Affair is just another pathetic attempt to rile the public up with distorted facts and other...well...bull****. Not to get political, but FOX needs to give it a break.

Yeah fox news is biased and completely disgusting. ESPECIALLY a current affair. I hate that I only get one rerun of the simpsosns per day now because taht lousy early 90s show came back.

I just saw it. I'm shocked. (and mad that they would air that to make DIsneyland look bad)

Stupid jealous fox

Most of those incidents were caused by guest stupidity. Which were not Disney's fault.

I DVR'd this last night and just watched it the morning. I didn't feel like they were laying too much blame on Disney. In fact, they pointed out in many of the accidents what the guest was doing which caused the accident. About the only negatives against Disney were in talking about those cases where they took a stabbing victim to the hospital themselves in a white van rather than have an ambulance show up at the park. The person interviewed, author David Koenig, suggested the stabbing victim could have used the extra few minutes at the hospital that a speeding ambulance might have brought. They were also criticized for cleaning up the accident scene at the sailing ship Columbia before allowing authorities to investigate. Truthfully, they should take heat for that.

As for condemning Fox out of hand, I watch a lot of different news channels, and read many online news sources both domestic and foreign. While Fox may be slightly slanted to the right, it is a closer to the center than CNN, CBS, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, or just about any major newspaper. They do cover all the stories (even if they report it a little slanted). The others simply don't cover stories unless they are a fit with their political ideals. Rupert Murdoch has been a major asset to American Media.....so chill out.

I you are going to attempt to make a small documentary on the Tragic Kingdom....... do not do the stupid background voices of the characters. i know that it is disney, but it made the program seem like an SNL spoof skit.

but then again maybe that is good so yall are the ones that look like cheap journalist.

Good point. That was quite hokie. Though, their Goofy wasn't too bad. From a journalism standpoint it added nothing to the story. But then again, it is a tabloid-style show so it was to be expected.

I think titling their next story (on Howard Stern) "Beauty and the Beast" was stretching the transition from Disney a little too far as well.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. "A Current Affair" is probably the crappiest example of "journalism" around. It is pure and simple tabloid trash, and the sad thing is that, just like conventional tabloid trash, some idiots confuse it for real journalism. I'll grant that Diz should take some heat for the ship incident and the BTMRR incident. But how long ago did that happen? It's not like it just happened yesterday. They're not uncovering anything new or warning the public about a widespread threat. There's a reason this simmering crap pile of a show went off the air years ago. How in God's name they brought it back is beyond me.

But maybe that's just me, a real journalist.
