A couple of questions regarding Savi's Workshop, Boarding Passes, and linking tickets.

Upcoming trip in February and I'm trying to get the info on how this is supposed to work.

1. Say my brother in law schedules a time to take my infant nephew to build a lightsaber. My sister would like to go in and snap pics of them building the thing. Is this allowed? Or is it just one adult, one kid, and she'll just have to wait until they're finished and exited for picture time?

2. How are RotR "boarding passes" different from regular FP+?

and
3. As an AP holder, how many of my family's tickets can I link to my account to schedule our fastpass times together? (big group going - right now at 10 people, though we might wind up with 12 by the time all is said and done)

1. I believe there is a viewing “gallery” that your sister could watch from. It is limited to one person to assist in the actual building area.

2. Boarding groups are separate from FPs. To get one, the who,e group needs to be in the park, you then follow the steps on MDE to join a Boarding Group. When your group gets called, you have 2 hours to return to ride. You can be notified through MDE.

3. 10 or 12 people is not uncommon. You would need to send invitations to everyone to link together. If anyone has a “managed” profile (like kids), then the invite goes to them but with the email address of the “manager”.

Actually booking FPs might need you to break the whole group into smaller ones for certain rides. You can then try for overlapping times. 4 from 10-11, 4 from 10:10-11:10 and 4 from 10:15-11:15. You can then all enter the FP queue together between 10:15 and 11:00 (with a little leeway either end).

For ADRs, just put your name plus “n” guests, don’t try and add everyone’s names! You can add them later.

You can also request a blue-shirted Guest Experience CM make a BG for you, then watch the signs in the park to see which BGs are being called (if you don't have or don't want to stay glued to a smartphone all day).

Boarding Passes - a few notes:
1) Timing- if you want to be safe, your ENTIRE GROUP needs to be INSIDE the Park by 7:45. Even arriving at 7:45 might get your party a Boarding Group number in 80s. We arrived each day around 7:30-7:45 and received Boarding numbers from the lowest at 71 and the highest was above 100. In early December a Boarding Group in the 70s wasn’t being called until after 6:00 P.M.

2) Obtaining- You can add only people who have scanned/entered in to the Park to your Boarding Group. No one person gets up early and gets the Boarding Pass....all have to be present

We rode it three consecutive days in early December, so the ride had just been open a few days, and while the Parks were a little slower then, tge Land was STILL a madhouse.

I’d assume they have adjusted/tweaked things by now, and will further tweak by the time you all go....

P.S. Do want to emphasize getting there by 7:45, and getting there that early might result in riding later in the evening...

You can ask a CM to create the BG, but ALL peeps in your party have to be in the Park. One of the mornings we we there, the app kept crashing and a CM assisted. Even then, we were there before 8:00 a.m., and the CM had to scan everyone’s band to create the Group...and the Group was north of 90

By the way, on our last day, we asked a CM to create our Group, and they advised us to use the app....

The “CMs” I’m referencing we’re all Guest Experience CMs...

I'm assuming you want everyone linked together so you can make FP's and ADRs for the group, yes? If so, I would honestly suggest that you try and encourage as many people as possible to figure it out themselves and to pick out what they want to be doing. I'm not an expert by any means, and your family might end up differently, but pretty much every time I've seen someone on here put in hours of work to make plans and secure reservations for the entire party, half the people decide they're not doing those plans and run off to do their own thing anyway.

I understand if you really want everyone to be together the whole time though, and if you're worried about how well others will get to know the system before you leave.

Are you sure there's a viewing area? I don't recall seeing any place where anyone can look in and watch.

Are you able to buy a yellow kyber crystal ahead of time and bring it in to Savi’s?
They're in Dok-Ondars store so of course you can. As far as using it during the building "show", I'm not sure they'll allow you.

Pretty sure someone said on the Touring Plans forum she took photos of her DH & DS building one. Unless it was the Droid building. I’ll see if I can find it ...

I think you're thinking of the droids.
I just found something out though. DL allows the builder and 2 guests, WDW allows builder and 1 guest.
