1. What parks are currently offering night shows? I know MK & Epcot are..

2. What time do the parks not charge for car parking? For instance if we want to visit a park in the evening only for 2-3 hours, would we have to pay $25 to park our car just for that?!

All parks offer some type of night show, even if it's just a projection show currently. As for parking, yes, you will have to pay the $25 to park. It's a day rate, regardless of what time you visit. You can also park at Disney Springs in a garage for free, and take a bus to whatever park you'd like to attend.

True you can park at Disney Springs for free but Disney Springs itself does not have direct to theme park buses. One would have to go to a resort or to Saratoga Springs to catch a bus/transport to a theme park.

True, and a major inconvenience time wise. Depending on how much available time the OP has though, easily do-able to save the $25.

IMHO, time is money, so I'd bite the bullet and pay the $25 to park. The inconvenience of waiting for and catching a bus from DS to a resort, time riding there , then waiting to catch a bus from a resort to the park, and the time involved to ride.... is it worth it? Then the time it takes to get to your car to drive home.

Parking depends on crowd level to. I've seen them park at Epcot all the way up until 7:30 with a 9:00 pm close.

if you live fairly close and can go multiple times a year get a annual pass, it has free theme park parking, we go 8-10 times a year, saves us over 200.00

They typically leave the pay booths 60 to 90 minutes before close

Although my last visit was early 2020, we went almost weekly for 17 years and I can confirm the above for pre-2020 at least. Booths at Epcot were almost always closed at 7pm when the park closed at 9pm. Obviously could be different now, but that was typical for many years.

along these lines, how really strict are they about parking at a resort for breakfast and leaving your car there all day?we are eating at ale and compass on the 27th, then going to epcot. would rather walk to the gateway than drive all around. also, how do they tell if you are a resort guest or dinning there?

There's no hard and fast rule on what time of day the parking booths are unattended, AFAIK. Last night at about 7:30 they were unattended when we drove into the TTC, 2.5 hours before closing. In the past we've seen the booths attended as late as an hour before closing and as early as about four hours prior.

We're also British, and Passholders. If annual passes go on sale again before your visit, it may be worth you working out if it would be worth it. If you're visiting for two weeks it may well be. Also look at the typical fares for Lyft/Uber from your accommodation vs car rentals/Turo + parking.

As posters above have said, Disney Springs free parking is possible for the parks, but you need to add an hour onto your journey to the parks, and another hour for your journey back. It may be less, but not by much.

You could also consider making dining reservations at parkside resorts on some days. If you planned on eating at any of the MK or Epcot resort hotels you *might* find it convenient to time these to coincide with your park visits. Parking is free at hotels with a dining reservation, and security will generally wave you into the parking lot as early as 2-3 hours before your reservation. From Wilnerness, Contemporary, Grand Flo and Poly it's a short walk, monorail or boat ride to MK, and from Boardwalk, Yacht & Beach, Swan & Dolphin, Riviera and Caribbean you have super easy access to both Epcot and DHS.

You will be fine they don’t bother once you are in the lot
