A couple of CBR questions...

I'll be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort in less than a month. I've never stayed there before, so like anyone in my spot, I've been trying to read up on the resort as much as I can (reading reviews, looking through photos of the resort, etc.)

Most of what I've read is positive, but there are a few things that are consistent with every bad review - one of them being a size of the resort. I'll be staying in a Standard room, as I usually don't find upgrading necessary for me or my party. We're never with small children or older adults, so distance from our room to the buses, food court, etc. is never a huge deal - BUT there were quite a few reviews (on various websites) that pointed out that since CBR is one of the largest, if not THE largest, resort on Disney property, there's added distance to some areas at the resort.

Is it really that big a difference from the other Moderate/Value resorts? I even read that they have an ''internal shuttle'' to get guests from point 'A' to point 'B' quicker. This isn't discouraging me from making any changes to my reservation, but like I said, I'm trying to do my homework on all things CBR. Heck, I just found out they don't have an elevator. Yikes. :veryconfu

Anyway, any info or additional information is GRRREATLY appreciated. Thanks, everyone.

Cbr!!

I go to the world 2-4 times a year. Ive stayed at various amounts of disney resorts although a good amount outside the grounds. I have stayed at almost all of the moderate resorts. CBR is my favorite!!!!
POFQ does not even compare at all. Port Orleans Riverside does though you can not go wrong with either of them. You are at WDW so you will be doing walking , but i found the shuttles for the most part were quicker than any other resort. The food court is much cleaner than the ones of Port Orlean's. I love the landscaping and the pool areas. Especially seeing as they just re did the main pool. I am not sure when it is scheduled to re-open if it has not already. But my last visit there was in June when the main pool was closed and i still loved the place. Just go in with a positive feeling and hopefully you will have a great time.
Just remember there will be negative reviews to every resort.
Have a good vacation =D i still have to wait till christmas for my next trip arg.

Have a great time..you're at Disney...and most of us are not.

:)

Exactly! My theory, as stolen from many a posting:

"A bad day at Disney is still better than a good day at home..."

(On a side note, my wife and I Honeymooned there in November 2003. The weather was perfect, the resort was great. We stayed across the bridge and she still tells people how annoyed she was that I had to stop and feed the ducks every morning on our walk to the food court. We have great memories and I recall no problems, other than perhaps the food court not being our #1)

The only CBR "island" of buildings that I found to be too too too far from everything was Trinidad South - all of the others are not bad at all as far as distance to the main food court building.

If they go to put you in Trinidad South, I would ask to be moved.
