Today I had a talk with an old friend who is currently working on the M:S project....to prove my source is 100% good, i could tell you a lot more about him/her BUT to protect Him/her, you will just have to trust me....this is what he/she said.....

he/she conformed that the ride system is what this site has been saying all along.....4 main ride systems....each with 10 pods attached...each pod seats 4 people......as mentioned on this site, the first one has been in test and adjust for about 3 months now....however, with only 1 pod attached and 9 dummy ones....the #2 ride system is currently getting all 10 pods attached....it will be the first operational one....he/she "thinks" that the earliest that any WDI tests with cast members will NOT happen till at least FEB or MARCH, and wile even he/she hasn't heard a soft opening date yet, he/she doesnt expect guests till late spring.....and the Unoffical tentitive date right now is early to mid summer for a hard opening......most to the pre and post show along with the "Q" is nearly done....the HP employee area is 0% done....it will not open when the rest of the ride does....

thats about all he/she said.....if i hear anymore ill pass it on....

All I can say is that Mission:Space will not have a soft opening and it will be the most popular ride in america. I think we all can agree on that.:D

FLcastmember - Read your report with interest and found the ride systems description interesting. However, what does a construction worker know about opening dates etc ? I still reckon we're heading for a late Spring opening, just in time for Easter.

There are always deadline on job sites. Half of the time if a job runs to long a company could lose incentive money. I'm sure a construction worker has a good idea when a project will be done. Now just because it is completed that does not mean they know when Disney will have it up and running.

well he is a construction worker but he works for WDW, for a really long time plus this guy is not afraid to ask questions.......to protect him, i will leave it at that.....you know hears an engineer talking at the water cooler...stuff like that but the rumors that they hear in that building are so much more accurate then anything we here from a friends couisins girlfriend that was a CP in 2000 and drove a tram and told a guest that "................" ..i know that the dates are just his opinion.....but when you work everyday on the project, your opinion is just about as good as a WDI imagineer, TT, for exmple, spring 97 is what WDI said, but i bet the blue collar workers knew that there would be no way it would be ready by then.

but i here what you are saying.....i know the guy and i trust him but if i didnt, like all of you, i would be saying the same thing.....
