Is Snow White’s Scary Adventures the dumbest ride closure of all time?

Hi all!!!

I’m trying to think what was the goofiest change ever.

Great Movie Ride to Runaway Railway, Splash to Tiana’s, Horizons to Mission: Space, Journey Into Imagination to whatever it is now.

No.

It has to be Snow White’s Scary Adventures to a Meet & Greet.

Like…

At least that was kept as a ride though. To loose a classic dark ride for a princess meet is pretty sad.
True, although since it exists in some form in Disneyland, I'm not as sad about it. Mr. Toad's in DL differs from the MK version (while I do like Winnie the Pooh) and I can remember Dreamfinder in spite of being like 3 when it closed. Cannot remember anything about Horizons.

But Splash to Tiana is the worst
Respectfully disagree, Original Journey Into Imagination to the mixed-up Honey, I Shrunk themed “Journey Into Imagination” (that isn’t one anymore, but a sensory test lab) with Figment’s return phoned in/done in a way that makes no sense, with a deceiving description sign outside is Infact the worst one, hands down. Taking the 2nd most popular ride at EPCOT and transforming it into the worst is truly an embarrassment.

I remembered Horizons. Choose "your ending" was one of the things I remembered from the ride. As far as Dreamfinder, he also had a meet & greet besides a ride. My younger brother was a big fan of figment and the Dreamfinder.

It’s a shame, because out of the four Snow White dark rides, MK’s was probably the most unique.

It had so many things the other versions don’t have, like the opening scene with Snow White and her bird friends on the castle steps, the Huntsman yelling for Snow White to run, the freakin’ scene of the Witch handing Snow White the apple! And then the mine scene where the dwarfs realize the witch “is getting away!” Which is actually similar to the scene in the film where the forest animals warn the dwarfs in the mine that the witch is up to no good.

Had this ride not been removed and maybe had gotten the style of upgrades that Disneyland’s dark rides have, it could have very well been the best of the Snow White dark rides.

Agree.

The other notable nugget about WDW’s ‘Snow’ is it was worked on by a young Imagineer who made quite a name for himself in a few years…
Tony Baxter was personally sent to Florida by his mentor Claude Coats to work on and install show elements for both ‘Snow White’s Adventures’ and the fabulous ‘20,000 Leagues Under The Sea’ Attractions.

As many times as I rode it as a kid, I don’t remember much. I remember getting in and out of the car more than the actual ride haha. But I always enjoy the ride at DL.
I vaguely remember it.

It's kind of interesting that I remember Figment and Mr. Toad's by Horizons is a big blank space. I asked my parents and we apparently rode Horizons a ton. So IDK.

My main memories of Snow are of: 1. My mom complaining that it was a crappy ride (she really disliked it for whatever reason) 2. The trees (a sign that I would go on to be vaguely hippyish and love trees). I watched a ride-through on YouTube to see if it jogged any memories and nothing. I don’t remember the 7 Dwarves being in it at all.

I do remember a fair bit (relatively speaking, as I have a terrible memory) about Mr. Toad. I think that had more of a natural appeal to kids. Personally I rank that and 20,000 Leagues as worse closures.

On this thought, would people have been happy if we kept Scary Adventures, but 7 Dwarves Mine Train was the meet & great?

Personally I think there should have been further expansion somehow so the meet and great was an extra addition elsewhere rather than a replacement.

That's what I think too. Surely they could've just had the meet-and-greet be somewhere else in Fantasyland. Maybe where the Mirabel meet and greet is?

Is it still Mirabel doing meet and greets there?

I still think GMR to MMRR is the worst. I get angry every time I ride. Not only is it a completely inferior ride, but it DOES NOT MAKE SENSE for the location. It makes perfect send in Toontown in DL. Great ride for that spot. Not in the Chinese Theater in a park that is supposed to be about movies and Hollywood. Zero sense. I hate it.
