Most Memorable/Funny/Divisive Threads Here Over The Years

Looking back over the years that you've been a part of this forum, which threads pop up in your memories as fitting into the categories in the title?

For myself:
Memorable: The thread covering the Lane Graves gator attack in 2016. It was a pretty emotional thread, alot of opinions and discussion points without ever really getting hostile or argumentative.

Funny: I'm sure this would be a common answer, but Katiebug. The legendary post from a one-time mega-Karen poster that has firmly entrenched itself into the WDW Magic cultural fabric.

Divisive: There are alot to choose from 😄 But, I would point to two recent choices as a tie for me: the main Splash/TBA thread, and the original ROA/TSI/Cars thread. Both divisive, argumentative, and sometimes personal, but for different reasons, whether it be sociopolitical or nostalgia vs progress.

Memorable: This is a tie.
1. the D23 predictions thread where @marni1971 gave is so many clues as to announcements. I’m trying to recall which year that was, things like Space 220 Lounge.

2. The Skyliner thread where @danlb_2000 and others deduced the route purely from the permits filed.
And later when @liftblog gave his expert knowledge, and the rest of us debated 101 ways everyone would die from lack of air conditioning!

Funny: KatieBug 💯

Divisive: any of Spirit’s threads!

It's funny how some threads like Katiebug just take off but others don't.

There was a thread once where someone complained about the MK Fireworks Dessert Party because they didn't like that it only served dessert.

Specifically because they had spent the entire day eating dessert. Despite having tickets to a dessert party.

As ridiculous of a complaint that you're ever going to see, but went unnoticed.

I had almost forgotten about those "no AC" concerns 😄 I think that combined very well with "if the Skyliner breaks down, there's no way to get them down quickly" part of that thread, and the associated Reedy Creek Fire Department analysis.

Memorable? Personally Spaceship in Spaceship Earth. Opened up so many doors and opportunities for me in various ways.
I just took a look- your first post in that thread was almost 20 years ago. That's pretty incredible, to be honest. I've never really taken a deep dive into that thread. Might be time to blow the dust off it and take a long look.

Divisive - Any of the Splash Mountain/Tiana's Bayou Adventure threads. Close second would be the Monsters Inc. Land thread before we found out that MV3D was closing for it. Bronze medal would probably be the Rivers of America/Piston Peak thread (I sense a pattern here)

Memorable - Going back a bit with this one, but the "King Louie Was On the Jungle Cruise" thread. That was one of the first threads I saw here, so it'll always hold a place in my heart even though the joke has been dead for years.

Funny - Katiebug is always a good laugh. There was a similar one that didn't quite pick up as much steam, but I cant remember exactly what the complaint was.

The Tiana's Bayou Adventure/Splash Mountain threads are definitely the most divisive. Things get pretty heated in those threads.

Second most divisive? The "Tropical Americas"/Dinoland replacement thread. At least four hundred pages of arguing whether or not Encanto fits in Animal Kingdom.
I don't think I've ever waded into that Dinoland thread. Might have to check that one out, too.

I forgot about the King Louie thread 😄

Allow me to summarize it for you:

"Indiana Jones and Encanto don't belong in Animal Kingdom! They're not about animals!"
"They're gonna make it fit!"
"When have they EVER made an unfitting IP fit?! Look at these multiple other examples of them not doing that!"
"Irrelevant!"

"Nobody liked Dinoland anyway!"
"I did!"

"Universal already did dinosaurs!"
"They don't have dibs on dinosaurs!"
"But there aren't any popular Disney-owned dinosaur IPs!"

Throw in the occasional post about how they should put Moana or some other IP that doesn't belong in Animal Kingdom somewhere in Animal Kingdom and that's about it.

"I like this."
"No you don't."

"I was talking with someone and they said x."
"I wasn't there, but no they didn't."

"I was with a group and they were really enjoying x."
"I wasn't there, but no they weren't."
