MK Piston Peak and Villains Land Construction Thread

I don’t think they will put it there if it’s
#3 and #2 both came online with Project Nugget, to coincide with Disney Enchanment.

They should've built both across the street to account for future expansion like this.

But I have a feeling like those are fine/safe. If #3 would need to move to accommodate the Villans land expansion, so would the decades-old #1 launch site.

Same thing for #4, they should've moved it in 2021, adjacent to the street instead of refurbishing it and adding a cement base to it.

I'm still sad we lost #5 and the mirrored launch site next to Tron. Not only were they not moved/replaced, but those 2 perimeter sites were detrimental to the seasonal Halloween and Christmas fireworks.
I like this explanation.

It's possible they might have to move launchers. I'm also highly speculating where things are going. Personally, I'd like to see the dark ride/dark castle on the far left area - it might mimic the Falcon at DL if so.

I just want Villains Land to leverage HEA fireworks. However they pull that off would be a huge win.

Florida has never tried to have additional viewing areas like California does - in fact they filled in the water to avoid doing that.

So I’m not sure there is any desire to do that.

that doesn’t mean anything is being built there. has anyone said that area will be developed?
The Floridian powers that be looked at Disney's plan for "layout yards" and, with righteous suspicion, seemed to innocently asked "your not going to use that for more rides are you?" And Disney said, "Oh, my, deary me, no!"

(To paraphrase)

Anyhoo. Even if those layout yards are only permitted to be layout yards, in the end, Disney can ask they be converted into theme park expansion yards with a 99% certainty they would be allowed, since that's basically what the 2040 land use plans say.

(Basically)

In the end, we're pretty sure they're not being built upon now for Villains. But they could be. Change of scope and all that. And if not for Villains, for something else in the future.

So, in short... no one knows.

I'm hoping they giving the railroad some good views it would be great if they had a villains land railroad station.
A Villains Land railroad station could be fantastic, maybe something weird like in a cave/underworld, almost like a subway station. In fact, maybe Magic Kingdom could get a diorama like Disneyland and Tokyo/Paris out of the project.

I can’t imagine there won’t be a railroad stop in the Villains area.
Eh, it's pretty well divided into thirds as currently set up. They'd have to shove the station into the northeast corner for it to evenly split Frontierland and Fantasyland. Also, even without it, it would be pretty consistent in skipping every other land (stops at Main Street, not at Adventureland, at Frontierland, not at Villains, at Fantasyland, not at Tomorrowland).

There’s no Frontierland station in the illustration of pistons peak - which does include all other elements of Frontierland.

Not sure if that means anything or not.
They would have very little incentive to move it slightly north unless they were intent on creating a second entrance, and even then, it would only make sense if it were a high-traffic entrance instead of something relatively private for an ultradeluxe.

Permit Filed for New Disney Imagineering Facilities at Stolport, Supporting Cars Land and Villains Land

This area has had random changes over the years so it looks like they are just starting with a clean slate and doing it properly. The permit refers to the new construction as "buildings" not "trailers."

Here is the current configuration..

SWGE at Disneyland feels very disconnected from the rest of the park, and is often a ghost town at night

A train station at Villains would help better integrate the land with the rest of MK
Especially considering it will essentially be a dead end that doesnt lead to any other land

I know the STOLport concept never really worked, but I think they should repurpose the airstrip as a VTOLport. There's your non-parks Marvel workaround.

Practical? Sensible? Reasonable? Not remotely.

Awesome? Unquestionably.
