I enjoyed Swan and Dolphin's Shula Steakhouse prior to the soon opening of Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina coming this summer. For an 8 ounce filet with no sides it will cost $78 with no sides. If you want to add the sauce trio it costs 12 dollars. To compare this with Outback, an 8 ounce filet is $32. If you want to add Truffle Mac and Cheese that will run you $21 in addition to your steak. Think I'll stick with Cape May at the Beach Club with a buffet instead!

Having eaten at Shulas two days ago the prices are not that much different.

🥲 You can't be serious.

Edited to add

Is there a place for a restaurant like Outback or Texas Roadhouse?

You are comparing the Outback lol. Why not just pick Olive Garden while we are at it.
at Shula's a 16 ounce new york steak is $73, a 22 ounce cowboy ribeye is $76, a 24 ounce porterhouse is $71...,more than twice the meat for about the same price...

Is this a joke?

You're comparing different cuts of meat.

Filets in the area are in the $60 -$70 range.

New restaurant will probably appeal to convention attendees, maybe on an expense account.

Sounds like you're not going to be a customer.

I'm more likely to dine at the Outback then Bourbon Steak. Bourbon Steak is a little more expensive then other Steak houses in the area. Your comparisons aren't honest. It's not twice as expensive, apples to apples.

Bourbon Steak isn't for diners looking for value. Neither was Shulas.

I wonder if there is a market for an Outback or Texas Roadhouse? Maybe walking distance to the All.Stars? Disney has $$$ restaurants. POP and AoA have access to TS at CBR and Riviera via the Skyliner.

It's still a valid comparison -- In that $71 Shula's Porterhouse, you're getting 6 ounces of tenderloin, plus a huge, delicious 10 oz strip and a bonus bone to gnaw on, while at Bourbon $teak you're paying $78 just for 8 ounces of tenderloin.

Looks to me like the value is at Shula's.

A 10 once filet at Shulas is $69. I don't think it's USDA Prime.
An 8 once filet at Bourbon, Miami location, is $66.

Shulas is a better deal BUT neither restaurant appeals to diners looking for a
more reasonably priced meal. The comparison between Bourbon and Shulas is academic. You're not going to have a choice between them.

Pricing and meat quality at these restaurants is dramatically higher then the Outback.

Edited to add the filet is " only" $ 57 in Delray Beach

In my home state (NJ), my go to steakhouse is Arthur’s Steakhouse (the original) in Morris Plains, NJ… they have the BEST French onion soup I’ve ever had for $9.95. My favorite steak is their 24oz. delmonico cut for 38.95…if you prefer Filet Mignon, a 10 oz. center cut will set you back 39.95. For dessert they have the BEST chocolate mousse pie…when I started going there, it was 7.95! The restaurant is about 75 miles north of my current home, but my family took me there for my 60th this past September…just as good as I remember it from 40+ years ago!

Are you seriously comparing Bourbon Steak to Outback? I mean honestly that just a stupid comparison to make. Bourbon Steak, Capital Grille, Ruth Chris, ect., are absolutely nothing like Outback. You can compare Don Shula's to Bourbon Steak, to be fair I thought Don Shula's at S&D was better than Bourbon Steak in NYC. But your comparison here is just irrelevant.

Lets compare it to Chops Lobster Bar In Boca Raton...an 8 ounce filet there is $58, which is 20 bucks less than the filet at this new restaurant...I also compared the restaurant to Shula's Steakhouse...

Do you have a link to Bourbonsteak menu at the Dolphin or are you making them up?

Posted menu prices at the Las Vegas location are higher then at the Florida locations. You're making up pricing if that's what you're posting.

Bourbons filet at Delray Beach is only $57.

Pricing appears competitive to other high end steakhouses.

Did you think Dolphin would replace Shula's with the Outback?

I'm quoting another website that was highlighting the upcoming opening of this restaurant....
