EPCOT Spaceship Earth refurbishment coming soon?

One of the vehicles has had an OLED screen as a test for like six months now at least. If you can catch car 192 before the refurb report back and let us know if it's a noticeable improvement lol
When we rode it last month half the camera captures of people's heads for the descent were scrambled. I could only hope they fix that, even though that part of the ride is pretty lame anyway.

I'm just happy because when the current screen gets stuck "on", you have a bright glow the entire ride. With OLED, black color=pixel off. So by nature of the screen type, we shouldn't have that issue anymore.

This is an interesting move. It seems they would save this sort of plussing up and improvements for when the full refurb was coming. This seems like the lowest minimum dose, maintenance wise. An interesting move that suggests a full scale refurb is not in the plans for the near future.

It also clears the way for a more extensive refurb of Imagination.

It does remind me of the RnR refurb last year, which was purely about a technical fix, then it can last a bit longer until it can close for a major upgrade.
It also makes me think that in the Figment vs Spaceship Earth debate, Figment has a higher chance of happening first
I think SSE happens after due to the fact the track would likely need to be addressed. I don't see that being a big factor for Imagination when that happens, I feel Imagination will be more the lines of "redo the attraction itself extensively, but keep the layout for track the same" and SSE will be addressing the ride alongside structural stuff.

I hope your are right ... And Destination D23 would be a perfect time (and audience) to announce that

I think they budget items for refurb or replacement and put it on a fiscal calendar way in advance for CAPEX reasons. Then others don't talk to each other within the company and it seems out of place if it is to go down for major overhaul. Just look at Muppets. New seats and projections then 6 to 8 months later close it permanently.
