News Blizzard Beach Hosts Month-Long 30th Anniversary Celebration Before Typhoon Lagoon Reopens

Unpopular opinion: close Typhoon Lagoon, invest into a better Blizzard Beach, build a hotel next to Blizzard Beach in theme with Winter Summer Land or whatever it is, then use the land of TL to build something people want to go to. Most visitors to WDW have a water park near their home. While it may not be to the same theme as BB or TL, water slides are water slides. Build something different people will want to go to.
Two things:

They don’t build themed hotels anymore…only timeshares without theming

They don’t spend capital to entice people to come anymore…which was fundamental to their business model from 1970-2004

Now it’s “here’s what we got…come if you want to pay what we say it’s worth in the market”

In a world of over reaching cynicism…that might be one on the top of my list

In some ways they haven't helped themselves with the water parks for hotel guests either in recent years.

Having to transfer buses means it more of a hassle than need be to get to / from them.

Also a few years ago, the water parks had extra magic hours every day, which given we went in the summer, meant we would pick a cloudier morning to go, when it was likely to be quieter. Later openings at 10 eats into the day a bit more too.

It's mainly why we haven't gone to BB or TL in a number of years now.

I was talking to my dad and he said when we have a trip in Summer we'll need to rent a Polar Patio. I told him we can't, it won't be open.

Now I'm going to hold him to that.

(Yeah, I know, Beachcomber Shacks, they look less nice.)

I think it means back to providing a better experience for the money.

The resort airline checkin is a big deal to those who use it and now both water parks will be open at the same time. My family really missed spending one day at each park.
Not at all miffed they slow rolled it for 5 years until they’re getting heat for being out of touch?

In case anyone is wondering, the "month long celebration" consists of a new salad, some floaties, and a few church-fair-tier games.

Other food, characters, and the DJ lasted one day.

The salad shows up on the preorder for Lottawotta Lodge but is actually only available at the Warming Hut but not on preorder.

If you're wondering what "character floaties" entails, it's generic parrot, flamingo, dragon floaties. Not inherently complaining (it's cute), but I don't think that's what anyone expected.
