Lightning Lane Premier Pass

How would the following be handled...

I purchase a Premier Pass for Epcot and a Lightning Lane Single Pass for Guardians. The single pass is for 9am-10am. I enter the lightning lane for Guardians at 9am. Which pass will be used?

I'd hope the single pass leaving the premier pass usable at any time the rest of the day.
The prevailing suggestion is to make sure you use the LLSP within the stated window (9am-10am in your example). Don't rely on any "grace period" before or after because it may take the PP at that point.

Can't guarantee it. However, in the past Disney has always "used up" the most restricted valid pass when tapping in. For instance if you were holding both a ME pass and a LLMP for an attraction, the system would automatically use the LLMP. I assume it would work the same way for LLPP, but might be worth asking before tapping in.
Back in the days of Genie+ if you had an ME pass and a later Genie+ time reserved for the ride it would pull the Genie+ reservation, even if you were HOURS early for it. And if that was your most recently booked reservation you could immediately book another.

And if your ME pass was also valid at that next attraction - wash, rinse, repeat.

...

I don’t think they can do anything to create enough demand for PP to become a mainstream product, it kind of reminds me of the Star Wars hotel, no matter how cool they make it there’s simply not enough people who can afford/justify paying the high price to make it anything more than a niche product for the rich.

What if they announced it was going away at the end of the year? 💩

We don’t know what “sold out” means for LLPP…hundreds, tens, or 5

They could be playing a game. The more they show this new offering as sold out, it can make some feel like they need to consider purchasing it on their trip if others are doing it.
And in increasing demand, they can continue to raise the price.

Of course, the logical conclusion is that at some point, the only people who'll be able to afford it are the ones who were sitting in the second row of the inauguration a couple weeks ago.

On the plus side, with their interest, we might see that Stich space revitalized into a modern version of Mission to Mars after a sponsorship bidding war between SpaceX and Blue Origin... with VR and a social media element added in, of course. ;)

very interesting that it has sold out on a day that isn't a holiday week or anything - though I have friends at Disney right now who go several times a year and were commenting on how crowded it is - so I have no idea what are busy times anymore. And maybe the cold weather had kept people away who are going now

I believe there are a series of "if/then" rules in place, but they're not perfect. I ran into this on a day at the Studios where we got a bunch of replacement Lightning Lanes that had different rules based on what attractions went down. The choices in that case didn't optimize the choices and we had to visit a blue umbrella when some of the more versatile anytime LLs were used for attractions that didn't need it. In short, Toy Story Mania was available on all of the replacements and Runaway Railway was not. On that particular day we had 4 different groupings of make goods with 3 different sets of rules. I believe Rise, Runaway Railway, Tower and Alien Swirling Saucers were all down at different times of the day.

Very odd to be selling out at noon... I guess its possible some rich people bought it spur of the moment day of.
Wha? There are *lines*??!?

<Buys into Lighting Lane>

Wha? There's a limit to what rides and when I can get on them?

<Buy into LLPP>

That's better. Out of my way, gypsies!!!

Could it be dynamic, e.g. they lowered the cap for today after having higher than expected attendance or other factors driving up standby wait times, and not wanting to exacerbate that?
Capacity is the million dollar question. It they’re offering 10,000 a day and selling out it would be an amazing accomplishment, if they are only offering 10 a day and selling out it wouldn’t really be that impressive.

The real numbers are probably closer to a few hundred to maybe a few thousand a day but without number offered whether they’re selling out or not is kind of irrelevant.

Yea, they just checked the stock room in the back, yup, no more LLPPs left today. 🤣

Very smart for Disney to declare LLPP (vaporware that cost ZERO to "stock") as "sold out".

This creates false demand, getting folks to think, "I better get my family's LLPPs right away or else they will sell out!"

There is a limit though... It's probably what is the acceptable LL length right after the parade at PP and Jungle cruise.

Is every case in which a product is sold out merely an induced demand ploy?

I mean, if there were more, they could sell the more, and make more money that way rather then short their sales on one day hoping to sell extra the next, no?
