I haven’t been following the details religiously, but I assume there will be a decently sized cast? The article mentions Cruella, Captain Hook, and Maleficent onstage and then others being in the mirrors, i would assume they’ll actually have more than three live actors in the show right?

I hope they get rid of the bench seating for that reason as well.

While not specific, Disney did mention seating in the announcement today "Sunset Showcase will feature a brand-new stage with the latest technology, as well as comfortable theater seating."

This is starting sooner than I expected - thought Mermaid would start around now but Villains would be a little later since still getting stage work done, etc

Plus them get two "opening days" vs one

Potentially some crowded days at DHS for a few weeks after these shows open and before Muppets closes

I did see rumors(maybe not on here)that these Shows would open before MV 3D closees.. guess the rumors were right.....

I'm glad to see it since that shows at least a little respect for the guests' experience by not having such a low count of attractions at once. Granted that DHS really shouldn't even come to this, but at least Mermaid and Villains will pick up some of the slack once Muppets closes.

Excited to see both of these shows in person.
Live entertainment is a big part of the Park experience for me, so these are welcome.

I will be in town a few days after they open and look forward to experiencing them first hand.

One thing I have to say….

I do hope the video elements do not overshadow / overpower the live performers on stage.

There needs to be a balance, otherwise the video elements will be a visual nuisance instead of an enhancement to the presentation.

It really doesn't take very long at all to get a stage show up and running if you aren't doing anything overly technologically advanced... And the Villains show doesn't look technologically advanced. I'm assuming they're really just using projectors... Mermaid involves puppetry and who knows what else.
