FWIW, the 2029 opening date has been scrubbed from the Pixar announcement and the Disney press release no longer has it either. Hopefully at Destination D23 we get official timelines for Avengers and Coco.

Disney should not wait for the sequel success. Just build the fume ride for Coco.
How long the ride takes to build probably has very little to do with when the movie comes out.Disney should not wait for the sequel success. Just build the fume ride for Coco.
I think they’re waiting to see if the sequel does well before they begin construction at all.If they wait to see how the sequel does this ride wouldn’t open until 2033 at the earliest. I just think they wouldn’t be able to resist the temptation of the synergy from the ride and movie being released together. They also confirmed that the attraction would be based on the original story right?

It’s more a question of whether they’ve planned the release of the movie to coincide with the opening of the ride. Especially if the ride includes characters/settings/etc from the sequel. Like how the updates smugglers run will open the same weekend as the Mandalorian movie
