Remember this from the old Imagineering website? Probably not the same ride but could have transferred into a boat ride over time.

The screen seems to show a rounded room, which makes me think large screens. It's nice to think that Coco could have been a flying theatre ride, or a heavy screen ride, and somehow, ended up being an animatronic focused boat ride. We truly won.

Id take a boat ride over a flying theatre ride any day... especially at DCA.

Are you saying that the rounded room implies some sort of higher tech ride system? With that said, I'm not sure I'm seeing it as being rounded.

I just mean that a room like this usually implies some sort of screen.

I'm hoping for Hong Kong Frozen or better in terms of scope/ scale.

I would love it if that's what we get - they certainly aren't managing expectations downwards when invoking Pirates and HM in their description. I don't want to get my hopes up just yet though, I'm expecting something grander in scope than the Tangled ride in Tokyo, but not quite as ambitious as their Frozen attraction.

What is this screengrab from? Haven't seen before. I do agree that the land of the dead will use quite a bit of screens and projections to make the backgrounds feel alive, a little like in MMRR. Hopefully the primary subjects in the scenes will be AAs supplemented by screen media, not replaced by it.

It was on the website for the Imagineering in a Box series I believe.

I don’t think it ll be as grand as the Frozen ride in Tokyo but I think the one in HK is possible. Agree about those expectations by name dropping POTC/ HM. It makes me confident enough to predict we’ll get a solid D ticket. Anything more would be a bonus. If it’s not at least a solid D then they re nuts for making those comparisons. I mean really it’s crazy to mention POTC / HM and not give us an E but we know better.

Oh gotcha - yeah I think the HK Frozen ride is probably a very solid comparison. Hopefully it feels a little more alive than that ride. I also hope they include a lot more animated figures that aren't quite a full AA. It feels like lately it's been either the latest A1000 or empty rooms with screens. Some skeletons on spinners or even just waving an arm or two would go a long way towards fleshing out the experience
