I think the food in SWGE is generally excellent, especially at Docking Bay 7. In fact, it's probably my favorite quick serve at WDW (though it's tough to compare with some of the Epcot ones).

I also think the shops and general vibe of the marketplace is interesting. There definitely needs to be more "life" in GE with walkaround characters and/or shows as was intended. And MFSR needs to be improved, but I like what I am hearing from these changes.

The other big thing the land needs to just a third attraction - doesn't even need to be a ride, a high quality show would work well too.

Brining back the Trials of the Temple or similar would be a great easy add

But fully agree about the food and the shops - more would be welcome (like adding the table service restaurant, etc) but what they have is pretty darn good (though the blue/green milk is a bit of a miss)

I'd say the biggest thing the land needs is movement. It needs that kinetic energy, it was just so stagnant. A pod race/speeder bike outdoor coaster would work extremely well. They could also resurrect the bantha ride or do a sort of people mover type ride exploring black spire outpost. It's amazing that they spent so much time to make it look so fantastic. All while missing how the land should make people feel.

Having not kept up with modern Star Wars characters, when I saw this headline I thought it was good to provide whole body deodorant since you are in a small space with other guests.

At a conference for the Unreal gaming engine, which provides the visuals for Smuggler's Run, they talked about the coming update to the ride. Aside from it using the latest version of Unreal Engine, they acknowledged the branching storyline and added this: “ ...even within each of the level environments themselves, we've worked with our partners at ILM to develop levels that have considerably more branching,” Kalama adds. “So that even if you return to the same destination, there's a new route or new secrets to uncover. ”

One of my biggest disappointments from Smuggler's Run was that it was very straight forward in the mission, and didn't allow for re-play. Disney had the technology and AN AMAZING game at Disney Quest based off of Pirates of the Caribbean, sorrounding screens, and interactive gameplay that had tons of different places to explore / "missions."

If they can add re-rideability to this game, differing points based off of where you go, what you do, etc -- it's a massive win. Cmon Disney, you can do this!!

I'm glad they're doing everything they can to plus this from a development side. Several iconic spaces, hidden routes, and characters people care about all sound like a win for Star Wars fans. This attraction always had the bones right, and it seems like they're addresing the issues. Excited to see how it turns out!

@Drew the Disney Dude mentioned that this ride is upgrading from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5 graphics which is cool for geeks like us who follow this kind of stuff.
Just the beginning of what is planned for the Disney x Epic Games partnership. I don't think many understand how big Disney is aiming for working with Epic. Smugglers Run is going to offer an incredible experience on Unreal Engine 5. I expect some major things for the Parks once the Fortnite digital universe is revealed, hopefully in late 2026.

I'm not a fortnite fan (always preferred PUBG) but what Epic does with Unreal engine and the fact that it's free to use (until you sell something with Unreal Engine) is very cool....you just need a pretty good computer and learn a lot.

The "Volume" where they film a lot of shows (starting with The Mandalorian) also uses Unreal Engine.

I wonder if having so many potential destinations and possibilities might actually make Star Tours irrelevant. People were saying it was post-MFSR, but that didn't last long.

I do wonder if that's a long-term goal, whether it's changing at WDW or DL (or both), though I don't know what they'd do...use the simulator with another theme? use the space for something else?

HKDL got Iron Man but don't see that happening...WDW can't and it would be odd in DL.
