I was quite worried this update would clash aesthetically/vibe-wise with the rest of Galaxy’s Edge, but with this mention of Hondo, I guess they’re keeping Onaka Transport Solutions and even the Hondo animatronic, so the change really is just a “destination”/“mission” update?

Yeah - so he sends you to Tatooine to track a deal b/w ex-imperials and pirates and then you pick b/w the three locations for where to track the pirates

So similar concept as before (Hondo sends you on a mission) but feels much different in scope and tone

I’d prefer they wait until a decent movie(s) are the source material. We don’t know if that’s the case here yet.
At the risk of sounding as pessimistic and cynical as, well, you, I suspect that the only decent Star Wars movies to be made have already been made. I have no faith at all in Disney's ability to properly course correct the Star Wars movie franchise.

I was hoping they’d ditch Hondo with this reboot but I can see how it wouldn’t really make sense to do that. To replace him with who? An AA of Mando/ Grogu or Chewie who are already high quality walk around characters? Anyway this is a great step in the right direction for GE

Still left on my wish list:

- Some more presence of The Force. Perhaps with a Yoda walk through attraction or show.

- Sporadic lightsaber duels

- Dinner theatre show with Jabba AA

- more walk around droids/ aliens

- Ewoks

- Vader

- C-3PO

- more Star Wars music in spots with different arrangements. I.e not like Avengers Campus where they blast the main theme all day

- one waterfall along the main path between ROTR and the bazaar

Christmas Wish list:

- New OT focused coaster - Endor Speederbike or Death Star trench run

Looking forward to seeing some more vibrant colors, new planets or just anything other than Gray, industrial Corellia. Speaking of, they better retire Corellia as a destination for a while because if I wait to ride Smugglers Run and the engineer picks Corellia we’re going to have problems. Haha. Which begs the question - which engineer gets to pick? Is one randomly assigned? Is it a fixed position? Do they both get to vote? Tiebreaker goes to the computer?

IMHO the 'land' was a hard fumble except for anyone with a fetish for industrial finished concrete. The food service locations just offer odd combinations of food grade materials in different combinations than are not particularly palatable. The retail places are just a pale imitation of a real souk. The rides, even when all the effects work, have little return value different experience and the new locations don't reduce the whack a mole effect.

There's depth in the rockwork, but the land is devoid of soul, charm, and feeling.

i like the land, the new nighttime shows are nice but honestly the biggest weak point for me was smugglers and hopefuly this will make it a lot better.

Also the fact that the land is always packed with people def takes away any sense of immersion and fantasy but thats just the entire park nowadays

Disagree entirely, except for Oga's on the food and standing room only experience, that's a huge miss.

The plant based smoothies ? Pork rinds with cinnamon? I'll put up anything from Three Broomsticks or the Leaky Caldron against Starwars land fare. Whomever attempted to make the 'native market' obviously has never been to one outside of Walmart or Target. The forced tired dialog from the cast members grates on the ears.

Smuggler’s Run is boring after one ride, hopefully improvements are coming there, at least. Rise is entirely skippable after doing both ride paths (and as long as you see A-mode Kylo AA) unless the wait is less than 30 minutes. Retail is a complete disaster. Food is way off the mark, and I didn’t care at all for Oga’s.

I think the food in SWGE is generally excellent, especially at Docking Bay 7. In fact, it's probably my favorite quick serve at WDW (though it's tough to compare with some of the Epcot ones).

I also think the shops and general vibe of the marketplace is interesting. There definitely needs to be more "life" in GE with walkaround characters and/or shows as was intended. And MFSR needs to be improved, but I like what I am hearing from these changes.

The other big thing the land needs to just a third attraction - doesn't even need to be a ride, a high quality show would work well too.
