I am devastated by the loss of Mama Melrose’s and now enter a fortnight of mourning.

Another example of removing entertainment venues to replace with a new entertainment venue while there is more than ample land to add an entertainment venue. Mama Melrose was a fine dining experience, even though some did not care for it. Muppet 3D was a fun show that needed just a bit of an upgrade. Now we get to wait 3-4 years to see something fill the spot. Management removed Catastrophe Canyon, Back-State Tour, and now the remainder of the Studio's. All that is left of the original park is a reduced Indiana Jones show. How long before the Brown Derby vanishes?

It’s shorter now but it was mostly the tired “audience participation” that was trimmed. I think it’s better now.

I've always heard that there were some remnants of the original plan for the Rizzo Muppet restaurant that was going to be here (the tracks for the rats to deliver food, or something like that). Are these beams the remnants or is there something else?

I would say that and 50s Prime Time and Sci Fi are the only things left now to get that original MGM Studios feeling. Melrose has a lot of park history on it's walls, sad to see it go. Tried to get back there this week one last time but didn't work out unfortunately. Will have to just enjoy the memories. I'm sure the archives will enjoy the picking, a lot of celeb pictures etc.

I don't think I ever ate at Mama Melrose's (maybe when super young), so sad that I never experienced it lol. On to newer and better things hopefully.
On OG Studios: Sci-FI is still a favorite, if not "the" favorite of mine & It's somewhere I usually go to on every visit. Hoping that will continue to avoid any possible replacement!
