First Look at 2024 Disney Jollywood Nights Merchandise Collection: Ollie Takes Center Stage

Is Ollie finally going to become... you know... an actual walkaround character and just a character spotted on a single LED lights, maps, or as wooden figurines?!

For crying out loud, if Disney can make Gingerbread Men as walkaround characters! Why not Ollie?

Insufficient. We made the mistake of attending last year. The show at the BatB theater was great and the Holiday Turkey Popover was strange but tasty, but there wasnt enough entertainment for the price or duration.

This past Saturday (8/31) after Fantasmic! and walking through the bypass backstage, rehearsals were being done for the Disney Holidays in Hollywood show for Jollywood Nights. There were all sorts of flashing lights and I heard the main theme song and other similar tunes being performed. Plus there were CMs stationed outside the theater to keep guests moving. Usually there is none on other nights.

Some pics I was able to grab while passing by:

Considering the small window for JN, is this even worth it? Is it just hop in, grab some cool snacks, then head out so its like 30 minutes?

I was there about 20-25 minutes to get an appetizer, drink, and take it in. Short time was my choice (not rushed) because there were still things I wanted to experience with limited time. We went just before 10:45 when they were about to stop seating, and it was a walk-up by that point. This year the event is one hour longer so guests may be able to enjoy more leisurely.

I wonder if their connection with Feld may make it easier to hire some well-known skaters with Olympic experience?
Maybe? Unless fake ice has improved a lot since I last tried it, it’s going to be hard to convince Olympic champion skaters to try performing on it.

I didn't go to Jollywood last year so I have no idea how the event was and I'm not going this year but I feel like this event just needs more. Like a parade or dare I say the Osborn lights? They're charging an insane amount for this, I guess it must have done enough last year that they decided to bring it back.

Quick question that might be a little far out - do we know if Jiminy Cricket is gonna be a part of the character offerings this year? My girlfriend and I are weighing Jollywood against MVMCP and to be honest that is a factor 😂

I was really considering doing this but the higher price (only $10 more) when compared to the MK event really hurts it. I know it's more of a "short lines plus some holiday stuff on top" but it is just hard to convince myself to spend that kind of money in a park that's already short on things to do.

But...if the Citizens of Hollywood returned then that might be enough to make it worth it for me.

That’s not fake ice, it’s very much real, I saw the Zamboni and everything.
I am confused. There is nothing in the post you quoted that would indicate that I said it was fake ice. Although I considered as a possibility that they would do fake ice and rollerblades. I wouldn't put it past them.

I think it’s because I said I don’t think elite skaters will want to perform on plastic ice (and if they do it won’t be very good), and then someone else said money solves everything and then you replied that Sea World did it— so I can’t speak for the poster you’re responding to, but I did read your comment as “Sea World got elite skaters to perform on plastic ice.”

Anyway, it sounds like we are about 2m out and there’s been no further info on the skating event they teased?
