I would venture to say because many of these meet and greets never had DAS. Pete's circus never had DAS. Characters meeting out and about in the park don't have DAS. Anna and Elsa don't have DAS. The ones that did s(princesses, Mickey) - do still appear in the app for das choice, the process is just slightly different now to redeem.

I also think people lump meets and attractions into the same category, esp those that aren't "Disney adults".- that all things with a line are the same thing, not distinguishing between meets/shows/rides much
So do people just skip the character meets then because the lines are too long? Maybe people don’t care as much about characters, especially those who are APs and go more often.

Yes
Actually…. I would think disability laws are very much on topic. It almost seems like you want to silence any debate on this subject?

Agreed. More generally, to merge Splash4eva's and DisneyHead123's questions: a lot of the discourse around DAS is affected by anchoring bias -- anything that has happened in the past is good and natural and right, anything less than that is an injustice, anything more than that is unnecessary.

As well the obverse is also true that anything implemented previously (like GAC and the previous version of DAS) was considered natural/right and anything less should be illegal.

We certainly have skipped when lines are too long. It isn't that we don't care about the characters, we do - but having done the long wait before we know what the limit is.

My son doesn’t care so much about characters meets and we usually did the meals back when he did think they were fun. Otherwise, like you we just don’t want to bother with lines. I’m just surprised we haven’t seen people whine a lot about how they will do character meets even with DAS. Maybe most people just care more about rides.

Edit -sorry @DoubleSwitchback, I misread this post when I first responded. I see you were referring to the question I asked, not my opinion on the topic. Little guy woke me up in the middle of the night last night so bleary today, apologies! I do think that this type of bias can really set expectations about the way things are “supposed” to be.

No
I gave a specific situation which had ZERO alternative. Had the same issue again today in Epcot… again im 100% fine with it. Trust me but as i stated initially. The lunacy world we live in where everyone wants to sue and feel the need complain about everything. Im shocked noone has in regards to this… again just makes one wonder
DAS literally works at the longer meet and greets...

Shorter meet and greets that are 20 minutes or less where you can visibly see your party if they're separated...of course that's different than an hour+ queue where you cannot easily locate your party.

It doesn't work at all of the longer meet and greets, though. Some, yes, not all. Anna and Elsa don't have DAS. Pete's Silly Sideshow characters don't have DAS (routinely 30 min+), the Disney stars meet at DHS last time we were there didn't have DAS (50 min wait right now).

Again. I literally gave you examples of M&G. Moana. Woody/Jesse & Buzz. I asked for sh@t’s & giggles. Was told there was NO option for me as a single parent with a minor. So whatever you post is meaningless. Im literally here now.

Where was that line? Just curious. Character lines really shouldn’t be that long in my opinion - there should be more characters out to meet the demand. (Aka the Disneyland way!)
Usually in Toy Story land. I was going to say also the Star Wars characters can have longer lines at times. It really depends. sometimes you can catch the lines at 10-20min and other times it’s 45+ min.

No worries, I missed your original response anyway! But yeah, I wasn't attributing a very specific opinion on DAS to you
