I always thought it would be nice to reopen Wonders of Life with Cranium Command (but Inside Out) to represent emotional/mental health and a Body Wars like ride for Big Hero 6 where you fly in an ambulance invented by Hiro to represent physical health.

That actually sounds quite nice. And maybe they could bring back "Goofy About Health", but instead of recycling stock animation from 50+ year old shorts, actually hire animators to produce original material with a cohesive storyline.

personal pitch would be give me a lion king ride (and Black panther if they ever get the rights) in Africa, and over in Asia knock down Kali and build a Jungle Book ride and a Raya spinner, then build a big new land in the expansion plot in the back

Problem is that the general public is largely apathetic to Raya.

I'd wager that we'd sooner see Gurgi in Animal Kingdom than Raya.

The trailer connected to Restrauntosaurus is set for demo - a little history thanks to Joe’s instagram -

joerohde Almost to the end of our Dino-tidbits. The airstream trailer.

It belonged to the mom of one of the team members... so, once again, a design element only shows up in the design because it showed up as an opportunity. No, one of the reasons we did. This is cause we thought it would be a cheap and interesting addition, since the airstream already existed, is already insulated and structural, and all we have to do is open a hole in the side to get into it.

Of course we did have to remodel the entire interior so people could eat in it, and do a little bit of engineering to reinforce the opening we created in the side of it. These kinds of things sound cheap and cheerful when they start, but as anyone who has remodeled an old house knows, the Diabloceratops is in the details.

I've actually been thinking about this too. The Wonders of Life pavilion becoming a mental health and wellness pavilion, with the "headquarters" world of Inside Out serving as the basis. The shape of the building even lends itself to being a representation of the world the emotions inhabit.

IDK - from opening timeframe to now - the Pixar Pier is a massive boost compared to what was there at opening. Plus, a new Coco ride? DCA gets a little too much hate IMO.

It’s because Pixar Pier is a downgrade from the upgrade Paradise Pier got around 2012. That was when they addressed all the bad opening day aspects of DCA and made it a solid and mostly cohesive park. Then they took all of that and said “nah, slap Pixar character cutouts all over it.”

As I have said and keep in mind, I am usually one of the loudest voices in wanting to limit the role of IP in EPCOT but using Inside Out is so damn obvious to me and has been since 2015 and I would support it wholeheartedly and am shocked the company has not connected the dots, yet.

The "Pier" concept is fundamentally at odds with what the Disney parks are supposed to be conceptually.
I actually thought the pier felt the most classy post maliboomer and pre-Pixar.

Since a clean and polished boardwalk style amusement park doesn’t really exist in the real world, it kinda works in a way.

But Pixar made it less classy and reminds me more of regional theme parks unfortunately.

All versions of the Piers are below Disney but they look nice with all the lights.

I hope Coco is the first puzzle piece in retheming that land to higher Disney quality.

Same. They're also by far my favorite Disney/Pixar films of the last decade-ish and moved me more than any others have. Inside Out is an embodiment of classic Epcot too. Like, the entire concept would have complemented the original Journey Into Imagination wonderfully.

Agreed. It was an idealistic version of a Victorian-era boardwalk, and worked in the same way that Hollywood at Disney's Hollywood Studios is an idealistic, fictional version of Hollywood.

The original version was too much like an actual, tacky modern boardwalk, and slapping Pixar character cutouts all over it is exactly the type of IP theming that Six Flags does.

I agree that the middle version was indeed the best, but it didn't really redeem the concept, and it gave Iger the false impression that if you just slap characters and IP onto something people will accept it at face value which ended up leading not only to Pixar Pier but the loss of overall cohesion of all of DCA and it has now sadly spread to DHS, EPCOT and now DAK too.

Yes, because Mexico is obviously part of California. (sarcasm) I know California was part of Mexico at one point but not vice versa. I would most certainly prefer Coco coming to the Mexico pavilion in EPCOT though of course it would likely require a far more extensive changeover refurb than we got when El Rio became Gran Fiesta plus there are apparently drastic infrastructure changes needed but that certainly didn't stop them from shoving Frozen in Norway which is a far worse fit for its pavilion than Coco would be for Mexico.

Me too, I meant that the concept is in the same vein as the original JII in the sense that it presents non-tangible concepts like imagination and emotions and gives them a visual world.
I see what you mean. It is sort of a spiritual successor to Cranium Command as well.

I want it to go into WOL not JII.
When I first saw Inside Out was after the almost sinful downgrading of JII. As I was watching it my mind immediately went into this being the franchise that might just save that pavilion In It's Entirety. The theater, the play area upstairs and a ride. If it is being saved for Figment that, to me, is currently a very short range thought. Figment's part in the current show is minor and we are presently two generations removed from the original.

If they want to continue the Figment franchise, the WoL pavilion has the ability to create his own world with many options without even changing the design of the pavilion extensively. It could also reintroduce the DreamFinder to the show. I know, it's not going to happen. But, having spent so much time in the original Imagination area I get depressed just looking at what remains. It's like storing a marble by itself in a massive oil tanker.

Problem with Figment moving onto WOL is you would have it sandwiched between two space themed attractions rather than off in an area that is more separated...since the Imagination theme relates to none of the other pavilions in the area... there is at least space around Imagination for it to become it's own miniland if they wanted to...
