Why not? Do you seriously think Disney was gonna release a new land this year? That would be a stupid idea and I don’t know how people don’t understand this concept. Disney knows to let universal “have this omelette since they’re gonna be hurting financially as they recover the major costs of the new park and are trying to figure out operations. Universal is going to stagnate at their other parks as the money flow gets adjusted and then Disney will have a planned 2-4 summers worth of announcements that will help them

Really its 2026 that's Disney biggest problem for new offerings (Millennium Falcon new mission and Buzz Lightyear's new gun at the moment) 2025 WDW at least has 2 new shows at HS, Epcot's Test Track 3.0, MK's new night parade and AK's Zootopia show

Zootopia is very late this year so almost a 2026 offering and will have updated Big Thunder, but yeah, not a ton unless they add some other entertainment. Could be another update like Buzz coming too

Agree. The upcoming slowdown will at the very least cause budget cuts to planned projects, or cuts/delays to the projects themselves. Fans won’t be happy. Universal is in a good position. Already paid for their new park which is about to open, they can delay announcing expansions in epic and no one will be upset with them. Disney on the other hand will be caught between a rock and a hard place. I can see cars/ villains land getting delayed.

personally I would rather see things delayed than have elements or quality cut (though I am sure many wouldn't mind if they make "cuts" to Cars Land that results in the river (in some capacity) staying

They did just tell investors that they plan to continue to invest in the parks and have shared those high level numbers so would be a big shift if they really curtail on things already announced ... now things that would be in the subsequent 5 years, that is another matter

Speculation or you have sources? It would not make logical financial sense to delay projects 2-4 years out from needing the general public to fund their vacations based on economic conditions currently or in the near future.

It’s like deciding on a factory expansion, you are trying to determine the need at factory completion not what today looks like.

I see this speculation commonly here though, so much so I feel like it’s assumed as fact. Got it off my chest now, I’ll take my business degree and logic and continue to spectate from afar.

We have precedent. They did this to the Epcot transformation during Covid.

Expansions in Epic will be fine, but if those other parks don't get some TLC soon Universal will absolutely suffer. Especially USO.

Bob also just said a couple days ago that if tariffs cause the prices of things like steel to go up, it may force their hand to scale back. He was specifically referencing to new cruise ships, but I’m confident park expansion is not immune to this line of thinking.
