MK Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and acts

and we discussed the very blatant lack of effort to merchandise the ‘new’ show relating to Non-Film IP originated characters (Country Bears). Which makes no sense, since Figment’s been stuck with his bad mixed-up, mistitled Film IP ride since ‘02, yet despite it. Still gets a plethora of merch. >>(**Incase you didn’t catch ‘why’ I brought that up. It’s ‘another Popular Non-Film IP based property’.**)<<

Meanwhile, the poor Country Bears get absolutely ‘nothing’, despite (yet again) a ‘New’ (only 2 year old) attraction at WDW the company clearly spent quite a bit on. And a new restaurant & statue at DL. Pretty wild if you ask me.

Aw yeah, btw, I get joked about while others somehow are understood perfectly, making the ‘exact same points’, just with more detailed proof & examples to illustrate ‘what’ I mean. You wanted evidence of it, right? It’s no “conspiracy”. Huh, funny how that is.

Can’t say I’m all that surprised though, I’ve been here long enough, both as a lurker & poster, to know how crazy it gets here. Lol! Oh well, to each is own. I made my point and that’s that. Carry on folks..

I haven’t been around much since I returned from Tokyo Disney but did take a minute or two of video on our second pass through the Christmas overlay of CBJ that my kids especially liked and would be happy to share if it isn’t already available all over the internet (IDK, I never looked). Sadly, we had a harder time finding Country Bear merch even in Japan this trip.

Really? That’s not great to hear that there’s no merch being offered there either, or is there atleast some still, but it’s just not as much or easy to find? Just want to clarify

Wonder if there’s been any clear waning in popularity/attendance over there? Did you notice any particularly low crowds when you were there, if you visited the show? And if you remember, what time did you see it?

I wouldn’t say for sure there was nothing at all, we perused the closest gift shop right nearby more carefully and I think the wagon was covered and not open as a store…we were keeping our eyes open for Big Al (my son is obsessed) but honestly didn’t spend too much dedicated time shopping. The did decorate the exit area for the bears for Christmas:

It was pretty crowded waiting to get in for both shows—much busier than we’ve seen CBMJ ever….I don’t think the theater quite hit capacity but it was pretty close.

The video this still came from was at 6:18PM on a Monday in mid-December— you can see briefly before I zoomed in the room does not have many empty seats:

Also, according to the site that shall not be named or linked (you’ll prob have to check with other data & sources from other sites & whatever inside knowledge they have to verify its accuracy) but supposedly, Country Bear Musical Jamboree is now the 6th highest testing attraction at the park. (Was mentioned in that site’s Frozen Ever After review, in the context of examples of pre-existing classic attractions getting upgrades and the incentives of that)

That being considered, if that’s indeed true, there def should be more merch produced of the Country Bears. No question. They’re popular and they’re dropping the ball on merchandising & cross-promotional opportunities with the characters.

We’re currently working on a show that might address this topic- at least I’ve brought it up to them since they’ll be discussing CBJ merch anyways.

On another note- per some reports, Teddi Barra is missing again. One of our reporters is going to check on that, but if that’s the case then what is going on?? Did she break down this often in the original? I don’t remember ever hearing about her being missing.
Honestly this is a good case for why they should have more songs the bears sing randomly, if Teddi is broken they can have Wendell sing solo.

The show was mobbed yesterday Ill say that, well the whole park was really the lines were crazy.
From what I’ve seen the show has been consistently packed during the day. I’ve only seen the show twice myself (I live in New England and have only been down once since it opened) but both times (morning and evening) the theater was full of people clapping and singing along and the second time as we left I saw a family with a small child who begged to do the show again. Now imagine if they had actual merch for that child to want their parents to get them!

Update: yeah Teddi is gone again lol

Post EMH day for deluxes, not a weekend (locals) and middle of the week (tourists want to start and end at MK.)
So why was a Tuesday so busy? It's not a weekend, in the middle of the week... Maybe it wasn't post-EMH for MK? It was also rather chilly on Tuesday. Not trying to be argumentative, genuinely curious why someone would say MK was "crazy" on a cold, random Tuesday but two days later, in the absence of a holiday or other event, posted wait times suggest it's rather slow. Was it the fact that multiple rides were reported to be down throughout the course of the day (including Country Bears)? The wait time stats thread has overall MK waits averaging less than 30 minutes throughout the day.

Down times don’t help, they make waits much longer. IDK.

It’s funny how Disney AA’s are becoming less and less reliable. How long did it take them to fix the bird mobile!? (It wasn’t spinning for quite some time).
Honestly it’s probably more like maintenance has been slashed and institutional knowledge on repairing attractions has been lost. They’ve definitely been cheaping out on maintenance, look how long the Small World boats were filthy before they did anything (and only after it was talked about on social media)

While the slashing of maintenance budget is an understandable reason for that. Surely they must have maintenance manuals and video diagnostics of all the AA movements & spfx, etc. to reference to for lost knowledge, yeah? Most places that have animatronics have those available for the techs/maintenance workers. (If this isn’t the case currently at Disney, that’s genuinely awful). The only other way that could be happening if they do infact have the skill, access to that, new parts, and the right budget, is folks willingly not using those resources I mentioned, which is crazy/bafflingly obtuse. Hoping it’s simply budget and working conditions that need improving. (That’s my guess as to what the core issue is atm).
