I don't see how they can turn it into usable office space without basically gutting the interior, so I highly doubt we will ever see the return of anything utilizing the sets etc. of what was once the Starcruiser.
I don't think it's this extreme, you can clear furniture out of the main open areas and set up basic open office style desks. Here's hoping the hotel side of it all is just walled off cus that's kinda weird, even in a converted fashion

Still trying to wrap my head around why they couldn't:
1. Cut a chunk off the outrageous price tag (which was THE main deterrent for most, not the experience or concept)
2. Cut some of the actors/offerings to offset the lower pricing
3. Still run the concept and make a decent profit, just not what they originally planned with the extremely high prices.

Disney could still settle for silver or bronze with this idea (imo), but instead they're choosing to forfeit altogether.

I have had similar thoughts - why did they just stop it all together vs at least trying other options. I know I would be interested in something shorter, cheaper and/or less immersive

And could even rotate things as I know some people absolutely loved the full immersion aspect. So do the full two night experience once a week. maybe single nights a couple of nights a week and just day trips a couple times a week or something

Just strange they didn't pivot at all and try even one alternative form

I assume it has to do with that the tax/depreciation benefit was viewed as way more impactful than what any alternatives could provide

I think it’s better this way personally the conversion into offices could make it a possible location for the animation building operations

In the future it still would not be the right size or location for the offices that need to be at the park. Also, Walt Disney Imagineering would want to be close for a project replacing the Animation Building.
Well there going to want to expand animation courtyard at some point they will find a way to make it work

They could do that if it was going to be very short-term/temporary (as in a few months), but for them to actually be workable long-term offices you'd have to do a lot more than just throw in some desks in the open spaces. There aren't that many open spaces there anyways (I think it's basically just the lobby and the restaurant), but it would also be a miserable working environment.

I know offices don't need to have windows but I cannot see how the Starcruiser will be a nice working environment in any way shape or form. Unless they are doing significant work I can't help but think trailers would be more suitable working environment.

There are windows, prison windows but they are real
I was looking at exterior photos the other day and can’t decide if the room portion actually has windows or just emergency doors, none of the openings show any reflections so my guess is they’re just emergency doors.

The main show building doesn’t seem to have any windows at all either, quite a few openings that look like emergency doors but nothing that looks like it is glass.

I’ve worked in a (more or less) windowless casino for 20 years so it’s not unprecedented to not have outside light but given the choice I’d certainly love more natural light than less.

Once you strip out the interior there are holes in the walls, configure the space to have the holes in the walls visible from the interior......

There is a well known reason casinos do not have windows or clocks

That's why I assume they'll be gutting the interior and eliminating all of the Starcruiser sets.

It was a disaster and predictably DOA…wrong place…wrong philosophy…and what was it?…completely wrong theme!!

I know I’m talking about in the future

It needs to be knocked down…plain and simple.
It’s a monument to failure as it stands…and I don’t mean just the blue lady line dancing
If they need project office space they just roll in a bunch of trailers and put them together. They can remove it when the project is done.
You mean the simple way?

I think this is being misinterpreted…
They have to strip it anyway…as they do with anything they mothball eventually…it’s just being done as part of the writeoff and it’s convenient for now.

Are you in the counting room? I'm looking for someone on the inside....

Kidding!

Possibly that's why they'd want to keep imagineering in there, so they'll lose track of time. Or maybe soul-crushing is appropriate for work on Villain's land.
