UGG to permanently close at Disney Springs

JMO but I think when Disney tried to make Springs another mall, it lost the Disney feel. I know they want people to be able to purchase other items than Disney, but do those stores really draw the consumer? So many stores come and go. We needed the restaurants because Disney wasn't adding them on their own, but I have not spent one dime in any of the stores I can get back at home in Columbus Ohio.

Many of those retail outlets that you have back home are targeting the huge number of international travelers who spend a lot of money shopping on items they can't get back home. If those brands are at Disney Springs, they will spend less time/money at the outlet malls.

I'm not surprised in any way tbh. I went here in December and they didn't really have a lot of inventory. Most people in the store were looking around and not trying anything on or buying anything. It reminded me a lot of the Lucky Jeans store (which was in that same spot or area?)

Shoes are a tough market for people with baggage limits in my opinion.
Plus they are know. For boots. Who wants to buy boots on their central Florida vacation?
I miss the lucky store that was there as well but the lucky store at home had sales and that one really didn't.

I was super happy when Uniqlo opened up. Now all that’s needed is a CVS

Disney Springs still leaves a lot to be desired:

Auntie M Pretzels
Champs
Foot Locker
Sunglasses Hut
Aeropostale
Claires
Build a Bear
Spencers
Hot Topic

All the things international travelers can't get back home in their villages.

There already is a Sunglasses Hut at DS...my mistake.

I don't think many people are really desiring any of that list to be at Disney Springs. It reads like a list of tenants at the hundreds of dying 90's era malls across America.

Yeah, the danger of sarcasm is that it rarely comes through in print. But apparently the geniuses running Disney have that vision for Downtown Hyperion Wharf Springs. Nothing says Disney Magic like chain retail.

This isn't just a DS problem as UGG is having issues worldwide. They've closed many locations and I'm surprised this one held on as long as it did

I gotta admit, I would gladly take Auntie Anne's pretzels over what they generally serve in the parks.

There are so many "Ugg style" boots out there that look identical, is there really any reason to spend the money on genuine Uggs unless you think there's some cachet to having the name?

Quality varies greatly, sometimes you do get what you pay for
