I'd be really curious to see the results of a survey that asked specifically which one people prefer if they rode both.

Right. It’s highly likely Joe Shmo says he didn’t have fun on a 10 minute water ride with 3 drops. The ride system alone ensures that. Ironically, if this ride replaced something like Winnie the Pooh it would actually have a much worse satisfaction rating as normies would focus and give more weight to the show scenes. But then again maybe Disney would have actually tried when they didn’t have the drops and ride system to fall back on.

As @lentesta mentioned, guests seem to like the ride at similar levels to Splash. However, do we know if Splash was also one of the top three most popular rides in the park before it closed anyway.

Splash closed before TRON opened, so relative comparisons aren’t possible. But Splash would’ve also been top 3 in MK.

That seems to me to imply the basic ride design is critical here.

Wonderful, whimsical artwork currently being given to Guests who purchase a print of their on ride photo.

Why can we no longer have this whimsy Stateside anymore…?

Take a closer look…and let it sink in :
We lost ALL of this…for blank walls and video screens.
And gained what..?
A few impressive AAs, yes…when they operate correctly.

I want this again…even if in another form.
‘Tiana’s Bayou Misadventure’ SHOULD have been just as whimsical and fun.

Whimsy doesn't exist at Disney anymore.
It's all about messaging, back story, authenticity, and a whole lot of other things that have nothing to do with fun.

I know I'm a broken record with this Tiana thing, but here it is again - they had the perfect source material in the PatF film to make this a knockout of a ride.
The film provided it to them on a proverbial silver platter.
The music, characters, scenes... All would have worked splendidly.
Fun, scary, catchy, just like Disney used to do.

Not sure where Len is getting his data from. On his website, it’s ranked 16th overall and 8th when just counting rides. It’s firmly below Big Thunder, Mansion, Pirates, TRON, Mine Train, Peoplemover, and the railroad.

So... 2027... Are our bets on "Tiana's Bayou Adventure Under New Management" or "Journey Into Your Bayou with Tiana"?

By 2027 it will be the same attraction except by then, all of the animatronics will be non functional they will be using strobe lights to simulate movement…. Until the strobes break..

That looks like user-submitted reviews as opposed to in-park polling. Might want to check for review bombers, just like the movies.

I’m totally guessing, but he’s probably talking about polls taken in the park, those on his site are reviews by people who choose to leave a review, easily skewed. I could certainly be wrong.

4.5 from guests, based on what Len stated previously (and the same ratings they got for Splash) vs. 4.3 on the site is something being "easily skewed"?

any guest rating is tricky - if I leave a Broadway show and someone asks me for a poll right after I would certainly rank it very high even if it was just average. (An average broadway show is still excellent).

But will I revisit the same broadway show multiple times on future visits? That’s another question.

I feel like they don’t even have to do that much if they really wanted to do the bare minimum, like even just add a few basic sets so we’re not floating by nothing for 90% of the ride. Like I can’t imagine making and placing a couple little critter houses is that hard or expensive

Agreed. Not sure why we have to settle for “bushes” at Tiana, “snowflakes” at Frozen, and plastic “fish” at mermaid.

Disney isn’t retooling it unless the next CEO decides to pull a drastic (positive) culture shift of even higher, well placed investment. Think ala Igers original mandate to correct their “brand withdrawals”. Which he did with DCA. Then they promptly decided to completely overhaul their overhaul.

Granted, they could have done a better job with it than they did. What we got was basically the worst case scenario. I doubt they’ll fix it so long as it’s “serving its purpose” as a flume ride.

I always said that they should have done a Tiana’s Western Expedition fusion sort of ride. You can still have the missing ingredient theme, she’s hunting out west with her New Orleans pals, only to find a familiar face from the past has also followed them….
