but eventually. Like. You gotta let go? Right? Even if you’re 100% right about how sad it is — how does it help to dwell? Everytime I open one of these conversations on here or Twitter I just feel real bad.
My beef isn't due to Splash being replaced, I've come to terms with that. My beef is to all to do with the amount of downtime and the issues the AAs have. It's been open less than a year and it's already plagued with issues.

Len is not a monolith; Len is legion. There is Len the TP data scientist; this Len shares, through TP and his podcast, and here, the data he collects and what it demonstrates. There is Len the podcaster, which reflects evidence and information he gathers as TP Len and Len, the amusement park enthusiast. There is Len the theme park fan, and that invariably bleeds into his role as podcaster and lastly, Len the message board poster (@lentesta ) where he shares his personal view or snippets of data he collects.

It is worth noting that none of these versions of Len are on a media list, and he often shares data that has cost him a pretty penny to collect.

This is hilarious. Thank you.

I don't even have a joke for this. This is just pathetic shape for a new attraction:

- Mill Tiana’s head and mouth aren't working
- Louis' Okra isn't moving
- Rara Louis' mouth isn't working. He has also lost alot of his movement
- Phineas the fox is moving slower than she should be.
- Stump Tiana is paralyzed from the neck down
- Louis' tail isn't wiggling
- Magic swirling lights before the dip drop don't activate
- Giant Tiana and Louis don't activate, just swaying awkwardly
- Mama Odie screen before the lift hill is broken (Has been for weeks)
- Mama Odie at the top of the drop isn't moving her mouth
- Finale Louis' mouth is broken
- Apollo is completely frozen
- Mama Odie at the finale is only looping the line "This party wouldn't be what it is without you!"
- Juju isn't working

Makes you excited for the future projects doesn’t it?

I’m sure losing Rivers of America will be worth it!!

This is a bit of a dumb question- how hard is it to move animatronics around? Like is it possible for them to one day spread out some of the band critters throughout the ride instead of in the weird sporadic clumps?

... Wouldn't it be better to just add simple things with minimal or no motion elsewhere? Herons, loons, turtles, frogs, etc.?

It’s just so wild to me that they didn’t add ANYTHING else, like even just props like I would have loved to see the little homes of the critters or their items throughout the ride
They could have easily converted the little homes of Br'er Rabbit and Br'er Bear right before slippin' falls into critter homes. I even sketched out a way it could have happened.

Br'er Rabbit's house could have just as easily become the home of Gritty the rabbit, but no, now it's just a random hole in the rockwork.

That’s what the existing critters are already.
I strongly dislike the static critters too (not even counting the animatronics that are slowly turned into static figures themselves too lol). It actively takes away from the illusion of it being a "real" place. I'd rather nothing than static figures of "alive" creatures. Splash Mountain handled it so well (as you know haha) by teasing the creatures' existence without showing them in the first outside portion

Does that mean there shouldn’t be more?

The point isn’t to have a ton of 100% static figures everywhere. It’s to have some more naturalistic animals littered about who are doing basic things that add to the visual interest of the scenery. You could have cranes simply leaning down every once in a while to drink water or a family of frogs with animated eyelids or projected eyes, perhaps with two in the back that alternate hopping repetitively to the beat at set intervals.

I would prefer this to the previous suggestion that the existing scenes be spread out and re-composed.

Yes, that would probably be fine/better. I was talking strictly about static figures like the Armadillo near the end of the ride, or the Louis early on who's stuck looking in a hole or something without any movement. It just feels super cheap.

Agree. That’s why I’m not sure that the newer imagineers (or at least the ones working on TBA) understand the psychology behind all this. Sometimes less is more. Having some of the critters homes or other place making is much better than static figures just for the sake of throwing a character somewhere. Ok you had the idea for a cute scene with Louis getting stuck but if it’s not executed properly you’re better off not having it all. Considering it’s the very beginning and outdoor portion of the ride it’s completely unnecessary.

This one is weird to me because it’s super easily fixable, at least in my mind. Eliminate the unconvincing swaying vegetable stalks and instead make the wheelbarrow he’s under move back and forth a little bit. Affix his hand to the underside of the wheelbarrow facing guests to make it look like he’s jiggling it slightly. It would probably both draw more attention to it and make the figure look less static. The textural inconsistency of the character is also an issue, but that’s easily addressed with a new finish.
