No. Its just closing "indefinitely". Always a favorite word used elsewhere when it's closing for expected refurbishment but no specific re-opening date is given.

Also, this is what fans like to call a "dark ride".

Honestly, considering the outlet that put that article out, I am really surprised there was that much misinformation. Or maybe not since they are generally an entertainment site and not parks/disney. Feels more like someone writing an article they have no idea about vs clickbait of certain other sites.

Even 20K had a reopening date.

According to the Walt Disney World website, Kali River Rapids is currently expected to reopen March 17th (as always, this could change).

I got an email from IAAPA saying that this ride and BTMRR were slated to be “improved” this year. Not sure what (if anything) IAAPA actually knows about this, so take it with a grain of salt. Being an industry thing they might even be talking about things not related to show.

It's not controversial at all. It's too short. Want a good rapid river ride? Try Bluto's Raft Bilges in Uni.

It was a one and done for me. I felt like I jumped in the pool with my clothes on
But, we will be there next week so I’m happy it reopened early. Spread the crowds out a little more.

Pretty sure the annual Kali closure is just a couple weeks of actual work and then a "seasonal closure" until either it gets warm or the park needs the capacity.
