Does anyone know how Luminous compares to Harmonious or RoE in amount of pyrotechnics?
It has the most pyrotechnics of any nightly Epcot show.Does anyone know how Luminous compares to Harmonious or RoE in amount of pyrotechnics?
I can't find the post but I'm pretty sure it beats all of them by a pretty considerable margin too.It has the most pyrotechnics of any nightly Epcot show.
Luminous struck me as incredibly boring with some very odd song choices coupled with weak covers of those songs. The pyro is a slight improvement over Harmonious but at the end of the day both feel like castle park shows haphazardly plopped in World Showcase lagoon. Epcot Forever atleast has classic music associated with the park’s history, it’s just missing more interesting show effects but the Tapestry segment is quite colorful. Nothing will top Reflections of Earth, but let’s not pretend that Luminous is the solution to our problems. I hardly see crowds for it whenever I’m there….Harmonious was a disaster for several reasons, so I think we can agree on that one. EF had some promise, but I just felt like it didn't deliver. In the beginning with the jet skis and kites it was more visually interesting, but the music never hit the mark. The failure to include the original music and the narrator sealed it's fate in my opinion. I'm glad you liked it, but I would take Luminous over that given the choice. Luminous could be much improved, but a lot of us (I think you might be in this boat with me) compare it to RoE whether intentionally or not. It's unlikely they'll have a show that can compete with that.
Yep.I can't find the post but I'm pretty sure it beats all of them by a pretty considerable margin too.
I hear Luminous had more pyro than Harmonious or RoE.The music is lackluster and there isn't enough pyro in the show for me to love it (or even like it tbh).
I just heard the same thing.I hear Luminous had more pyro than Harmonious or RoE.
My kids enjoyed Luminous. Unlike RoE, even during the quiet parts, there are still big boom booms in the sky.I have the same issue with Luminous that I had with Illuminations, it seems to get a little too mature and boring. Both shows have sections that are just absolute snoozers for kids.
Still love both shows lol
Agreed. There's no option to do one for HEA (which would have been my first choice) and the space for Fantasmic doesn't work for my guest count so I'm a bit stuck but totally agreed.
I feel like if they bring RoE back with the Luminous hardware, it would mitigate all of RoE's flaws, namely that dang Globe that no one could see. The quiet parts could have some pyro, or even just be fountain-centered. It would be a better version of the best show.My kids enjoyed Luminous. Of course, teachers tell us today’s fifth graders can barely read so I guess it’s hard to keep kids like that focused for a whole 20 min.
But poster said it's not enough for him to like it MisterPenguin!I hear Luminous had more pyro than Harmonious or RoE.
I totally agree, I think they do need some kind of globe though. You can't just do the show without the globe. I think drones would be the best way to represent the globe and then you have them making different shapes throughout the show otherwise. I would also include flamethrowers on the barges for the inferno barge since I'm not really sure there's another way to do it.I feel like if they bring RoE back with the Luminous hardware, it would mitigate all of RoE's flaws, namely that dang Globe that no one could see. You know what, you've just made me realize a point where it's baffling for them to incorporate one song to with even if it rhythms or blends with the other song. Remember Me is fine because it's about telling saying "remember me".Pacing felt decent up until Loss/'When Somebody Loved Me'. Truly baffling decisions during that part of the show, and I noticed a lot of people were looking around like, "What's going on?". I still do not like the IP mandate, because it forces music into things like this that do not belong.
Perimeters did start the show.Luminous is running with reduced close proximity pyro tonight. Basically only pyro that launches from the main barges. Wind doesn't seem that crazy though? Only 9mph with 20mph gusts..
Wonder if it's a technical issue or too early of a call to not fill the smaller close proximity barges.Perimeters did start the show.
