Luminous could be much improved, but a lot of us (I think you might be in this boat with me) compare it to RoE whether intentionally or not. Luminous struck me as incredibly boring with some very odd song choices coupled with weak covers of those songs. The pyro is a slight improvement over Harmonious but at the end of the day both feel like castle park shows haphazardly plopped in World Showcase lagoon. Epcot Forever atleast has classic music associated with the park’s history, it’s just missing more interesting show effects but the Tapestry segment is quite colorful. Nothing will top Reflections of Earth, but let’s not pretend that Luminous is the solution to our problems. I hardly see crowds for it whenever I’m there….

My kids enjoyed Luminous. Unlike RoE, even during the quiet parts, there are still big boom booms in the sky.

Of course, teachers tell us today’s fifth graders can barely read so I guess it’s hard to keep kids like that focused for a whole 20 min.

The pyro didn't feel like "more than any other Epcot show", given the fact that a lot of the same shells are shot off at the same time from the different barges so that everyone around WSL sees the same thing going off. So 6 shells becomes 36 in the same instant. Not that the pyro was bad, by any means, you just have to look at more than raw numbers.

(Full disclosure - through the kindness and generosity of several people, I was recently able to view the show from a roped-off area) The show was... ok. As mentioned, pyro seemed good. Pacing felt decent up until Loss/'When Somebody Loved Me'. Truly baffling decisions during that part of the show, and I noticed a lot of people were looking around like, "What's going on?". I still do not like the IP mandate, because it forces music into things like this that do not belong. I will need to go watch a video or two of the show, now that I've seen it in person, for a few reasons - I want to hear the original pieces again; Not sure yet how I feel about the heavy reliance on fountains; I'm also still not sure what the LED lights on the barges was supposed to be about, considering it was difficult to see them.

A dessert party for HEA? They are available. I did one pre-pandemic and my wife wanted to do one last month. Unless you are hinting that your party size prevents it.

I feel like if they bring RoE back with the Luminous hardware, it would mitigate all of RoE's flaws, namely that dang Globe that no one could see. The quiet parts could have some pyro, or even just be fountain-centered. It would be a better version of the best show.

I totally agree, I think they do need some kind of globe though. You can't just do the show without the globe. I think drones would be the best way to represent the globe and then you have them making different shapes throughout the show otherwise. I would also include flamethrowers on the barges for the inferno barge since I'm not really sure there's another way to do it.

You know what, you've just made me realize a point where it's baffling for them to incorporate one song to with even if it rhythms or blends with the other song. Remember Me is fine because it's about telling saying "remember me".

As for "When She Loved Me is strange." this song is about the relationship lost and/or that once was between a girl and her doll toy. The girl didn't pass away. Using death for the segment and hearing "When She" is like saying they loved you only when they were alive and now it's gone.
