Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

You can make a major overhaul to the story with some new dialogue, swapping out the LP or at least half of the LP scenes (which is just 2-4 frogs, the awful Tiana CGI screen and bare minimal theming) and some Facilier / ghoul projections and music changes on the lifthill with Mama Odie saving the day up top.

Although the old HDYD scenes would still be underwhelming you don’t really have to change anything story wise. And you can kind of look past the fact that it’s underwhelming if the ride is building to something. But it’s hard to do when the ride just so monotone and essentially flat lines the whole time.

Put Tiana in her real dress at the end. And it should be Louis playing a riff for us at the end (preferably the intro to Human again) right before unload instead of Mama Odie.

I agree. Some new dialogue in them main sections is all that is really needed. Could add some more critters, etc.

Really the big change would be the LP / lift hill.

just add dialogue where the first time you see Mama Odie she says be careful going back to the swamps cause bad things have been happening, do the same on the screen before the lament scene, then add in Facilier where Tiana and Louis screens are now. Add “Are you Ready?” To the lifthill. Easy fix. At least try it for a few months around Halloween and see how people react.

And open that can of worms when dealing with Facilier and his character being a racist strawman fabricated by white people trying to justify fear and distrust of Black Americans post-Civil War.

I have tried out the new overlay theme. Honestly it is adorable. But I prefer the former Splash Mountian. I still think Disney should have removed Pooh for Tiana.

They could have put all of the show scenes of Tiana into Winnie the Pooh.

It's not PERFECT, but it's pretty darn close! Despite retaining the stupid storyline, this version wouldn't have been as terrible because it wouldn't have been replacing an iconic attraction. It would have been replacing a terrible Winnie the Pooh attraction.

Crazy how the worst Pooh attraction still has more show scenes than this “new” “E-ticket”.

Yep, we'd go "It's not super amazing but it's a cute 10minute wait diversion"

Not "We lost what was among the best rides ever for this?"

Though losing Country Bears for Pooh was a crime.

I guess this is what happens when you only put one frog every 30 feet.

From the old Brer Bear butt drop into the Laughing Place through the top of the lifthill you have three small screens, one AA and four limited motion frog figures. That’s it.

I saw someone making a comment on Instagram acting like it was the greatest GOTCHA that the animatronics of Splash (at least at WDW) were constantly down, too.

1. Those were old and not maintained.
2. The Tiana ones are literally brand new, "state of the art"
3. Neither is acceptable? Like why are they acting like this was the SERVE of serves????

Terrible? Whoa whoa whoa. If they would plus the Heffelump and Woozle scene, the ride would be killer. Right now it ranks about even with Alice for me.

Pinocchio
Roger Rabbit
Mr Toad
Alice
Pooh
Snow White
Pan

What's really sad is that if you added all of this to Pooh, they would still need to fill in a good 30 seconds of ride time. That tells you how pathetic Tiana's is.

Found a video from a company that did work on DL's version of Bayou Adventure, complete with a construction shot of Burrow Lament that I feel perfectly sums up why this ride is a colossal nuke:

It just illustrates how much nothing there is to look at Bayou, even with the lights on. Keep in mind, this exact spot would have had 15 figures to look at if you looked at Splash from this spot, even with the lights on.

Yes, according to Disney a single screen with 3D printed mushrooms and bottles is a much better sequnce than:

Brer Rabbit stuck in honey
Brer Fox sneaking up on him
Mama Possum and 2 babies
Mama Rabbit and 4 baby bunnies
Boothill Boys

Clearly the spent most of the money on the finale and whatever was left on the old HDYD scenes. The imagineers then combined all the loose change they could find in their sofas and car cup holders to complete the old laughing place/ burrows lament scenes.
