Does anybody know how often they've done this in the past (at any of the parks)? And do we think it's going to be more common?
Stayed at Coronado Springs Resort and Convention Center. We saw many busloads of business people going from the hotel to Magic Kingdom for their big night event.

Sunset is at ~7:30pm. It would be interesting to know if they start moving people out before 8pm.
They did not. There were CM's at the entrances to Pandora and signs that said it would be closed at 8. We left the land just before 8 and there was no sense of urgency. But on our way out there were lots of folks walking in, literally several busloads. It looked like some sort of "customer appreciation" event.

I get Closing Pandora for Joe R to show it off to the Big Dogs...
But what does this mean for Dinoland?????????????(!!!!!!!)

I think it's rather good these executives will be seeing two examples of 'themed environments'.
And these two examples, Pandora and Dinoland, are at the complete opposite of each other in regards to quality, place setting, and themed surroundings.

Hoping this means bigger plans are on the horizon, and we finally see the demise of the eye sore that is Dino-Rama.

Objectively it's very good theming of a parking lot with a pop-up faire going on, although I feel like United States is not well represented here compared to the other AK lands! :)
Good execution on a bad theme. Toy Story Land and Storybook Circus are other examples of this.

I'm in the minority that loves Dino-Rama--I love the cheesiness of it, the restaurant/store have amazing theming to me.
HOWEVER If they had ever planned to invest more in it, I feel as though the "parody ride" that Primeval Whirl is supposed to be of DINOSAUR should have been a dark ride based off Pretzel Dark Ride haunted houses. An added layer of corniness, a way to get out the sun, etc. Too late now.

Rohde is probably talking to investors on ways to revitalize the land then? Showing what money can do in the case of Pandora and what...no money means. lol

Except Joe said "This morning" and the closures were at 8pm.

Doesn't mean they still weren't going to close the space for some sort of function as part of the powwow. Gotta feed them dinner somewhere. If the weather is decent I suspect most people would rather eat in DinoLand than in a conference room somewhere.

It is extremely annoying when they close the parks for these sort of special events .. except when you're part of the special event :) I've been to several of these over the years and they are AWESOME. I remember being at a work conference when they closed DHS (MGM at the time) and there were only 2-3k people there and they put out food and drink stands for the attendees. Wow, those were special times.
