I've never understood, what do they use a staging area for?
When you dont have enough physical space to both prepare and and store all of the stuff thats going to be put there you use a staging area.

Anyone remember all the disagreements when at one point it was thought that the Backlot Tour area was going to be the staging area for Star Wars Land when it was going to take the Indiana Jones Stunt Show plot and expand the park boundaries? Some people were convinced that BLT area was too big for a staging area... look at the size of the actual staging area we have for SWL now. When you dont have enough physical space to both prepare and and store all of the stuff thats going to be put there you use a staging area.
I believe that is the staging area for the DHS projects but I am sure someone else will confirm?

Anyone know what's the deal with that cleared out rectangle in front of ESPN?

Photo update as of Monday, March 12, 2018. Since sometime in late February, the "loader" part of the earth moving conveyor was removed. The large pile of earth has been gone for some time, so I supposed the rest of the conveyor will be removed soon.

Can this area ( across the road) be developed for theme park attractions? It woukd be a nice area for an Star Wars expansion without disturbing the open park. Here's where it's being placed.

Now what is this for? Well good question. Basically what disney is doing is they are building an enormous retention pond on the west side of World Drive and they are using the material they are digging up from that hole as fill on the East side of the road. The fill will be going in quite a few areas but quite a bit of it will be used for the interchange projects as well as the regrading of the expanded and reconfigured DHS parking area. Currently on the west side of the road there is a 3 story high pile of dirt several football fields in size (hidden behind the trees) and they have barely started digging the retention pond. All of this dirt that's piled up so far is from several other projects from what I can tell.

Thanks!!The area on the other side of World Drive was one of last few big plots of land considered suitable for development, but now they have taken away a good chunk of it for the storm water pond and fireworks launch area.
