EPCOT Big changes coming to EPCOT's Future World?

Thank-you for posting pictures of the absolutely real pinch points that I experienced over and over and over again due to the FoN being between where Communicore SW and SE came together exacerbated by add-ons, such as Starbucks, and the concretization encirclement of the FoN to keep people away from being sprayed by the FoN (a design flaw from the beginning).

It was real despite your claims otherwise. Pictures of the pinch points when there's only a dozen people around is a huge cherry-picking distortion. When there were crowds, it was a traffic jam. And claiming one could just jump into Communicore to get around it is laughable.

Additionally laughable is the claim that if FoN was in the absolute center, it would definitely impede the East-West transit of breezeways, all the while ignoring how it impeded the North-South transit of World Showcase and the Entrance/Exit.

It's a fact!

I've been going to Epcot since a few months after opening and in many different seasons. I've never experienced the excess crowds at the pinch points you're talking about. Busy, yes. Unbearable, no. After seeing the new plaza gardens area, I'd take the thoughtful design excellence of the original FoN and the surrounding area hands down over what's there now. But to each his own.

Rocket Rods would beg to differ.... But I think EPCOT Celebration whatever-it-is-called is one of the worst projects for TDO. I still can't quite figure out how this idea and lack of vision was ever greenlit...Let alone had people in charge actually promoted afterwards.... Well I guess his floor choices were ok....
Maybe someday we will find out the whole story of what happened during that time.....
Are we comparing the broken Epcot floors to what Rocket Rods did to the PeopleMover building and track for it to not able to bring back the PeopleMover?

Rocket Rods influenced Test Track and was a cool experiment at the time, World Celebration didn't try anything grand or unique and even if the festival building was cancelled didn't mean the core could of not had the atmosphere and environment from it's concept art with the festival building. Makes me think they wanted to rush finish something and grabbing furniture from a Hobby Lobby just to open it because money going elsewhere.

I never remember the walk passing FON to be a bottleneck or annoyance. People knew where they were going to. Would it only be a problem at rope drop if crowds were running to Frozen?

People, everyone were so in awed in Epcot mode by the Innoventions/Future World Music Loop which bears zero unbearing, they'd laugh at you if you questioned them if they felt unbearable. No one is complaining how tight and small Main Street USA is nor saying it's unbearable because the charm, the music etc, if people have what they want from their happy place they won't care for unnecessary things like that because at the same time they love the FON so much! <3

Moana is actually the best vision of EPCOT that came with the changes. It’s edutainment. Now, I won’t argue that it would fit better in AK and that it sticks out like a sore thumb in EPCOT, but concept-wise, it’s much better than other things we got.
They need more attractions like Moana in Epcot.

If you want big changes to Epcot, dust off the original plans and finish them.

This area at the end of a long day esp at night really can make everyone relaxed out mind spirit free and let loose especially kids. The only thing that would ruin that offering is if after you went straight to the evening and hanged at the DJ Flex space at Communicore Blast! 😵‍💫

I was there for many rope drops, no, it wasn’t. The current perimeter walkways aren’t much wider than they were when the FoN was there, CommuniCore Hall arguably makes it worse because it encourages loitering in the walkways. Walking past the Fountain of Nations wasn’t an issue, and even if it was, you had multiple other options to get from World Showcase to SSE even during park clearing.

Your right, they aren't wider and even though you have many options to flow in paths doesn't improve a change as if you could run faster. It doesn't appeal to me to walk beside Communicore Hall, I still prefer walking middle or down Creation's unless it's park close and it's empty everywhere.

Sadly, CommuniCore Hall is the part of this redo that genuinely needs to be leveled. The gardens feel salvageable, but the hall will always feel cheap. They need to bring back the original concept from when Creations was to be demolished, with the collection of domes and toroids surrounded by gardens. Put the M&G in one, Festival Favorites and other fare in another, the stage in an Imagination-facing bandshell, and maybe even a carousel in another.
They can level CommuniCore Hall for all I care, though I will say that one aspect of this refresh that I actually quite like is the rehabilitation of the other Communicore building. It really gives a sense of what could have been if only they hadn't ever proposed that table building.

With Moana not going anywhere, I don't know they can ever really restore symmetry to the area. I would personally prefer, though, some effort to more effectively mirror Creations than to demolish the remaining building as well.

That's not what I meant. I don't want them to demolish Creations or Connections. I want them to demolish CommuniCore Hall and, rather than build the table, replace it with the kind of structures and landscaping that were originally supposed to be situated in the southeast portion of the area where Creations now resides. I think those structures could nicely encapsulate F&B, M&G, performance, and possibly even attraction spaces quite easily. Picture with arrow indicator to what I'm talking about for reference:

You can imagine, you could even imagine if something on the East was instead West side like Club Cool and Starbucks which use to be as more liklier than Creation's or Connection's one of them going on that side or both the possibilities is endless. If we had the other Communicore building rehabilitated it would be what the Communicore Hall is, the meet and greets area would stay, does it mean we would not lose Baymax? Epcot's center core right now is basically Epic Universe Celestial Park where either sides doesn't have identical symmetry. Epcot's center is concrete, Epic's is water. The only improvement you could do is either when Communicore Hall is demolished move the meet and greets to Connection's Eatery. Build a smaller Communicore Building or unique fitting architecture structure with a dome to house Starbucks. Perhaps The Connection's Eatery could move front where Starbucks is and the back is the character meet and greets. Just brainstorming here.

The cars fiasco will be irrepairable to MK, this mess at Epcot is somewhat repairable/changeable, if they had anyone with a vision or who isn't clueless, and they don't sadly nor a management willing to spend again. And they spent how much on this? Heads should roll.
Heads will roll? You think people will suddenly get fired for this almost a year after it finished?

I think at this moment this makes me feel a little better..
