A while back, in order to give needed maintenance hours to a maintenance heavy attraction. I expect the addition back is for the summer. Splash has been looking good lately - we will see if that suffers now with the extended hours.

about a month ago during EMH I saw A LOT of exited people walking up to the ride... only to be disappointed and confused that it was not included in EMH. I was one of them...

Keep in mind, it's not like EMH is every night. Evening EMH used to be a lot more frequent than it is now. So, they still could do maintenance on most nights when there is no EMH. Will they? That is the real question.

Splash is awesome at night. You come around the corner and the castle is there all lit up. The ride itself is all lit, as well.

At night this time of year it's still 87 degrees. Wet is fine.

This is just for the time during which Pirates is closed.

It's actually pretty fun in the dark. And if you can time it right and ride while the fireworks are going off, it's fantastic.

I think it was after the Enchanted Tiki Room refurbishment, as that is what replaced it.

When SM was closed a few weeks ago during EMH a cast member explained to me they needed to close it at midnight because the water needed filtering but this makes no sense since I'm pretty sure it uses the same water as POTC which is open during EMH.
