It will be our son's eighth birthday during our Disney holiday. We will be staying at the yacht club and are going for two weeks from the 26th Nov. Can anybody give us any advice on special things to do for him? Thanks

First of all, early Happy Birthday to your son. I'm sure he will love celebrating at WDW. Make sure he gets a Free Birthday button when you check in. Numerous cast members will wish him Happy Birthday and he might even get some extra treats at your table service meals like my daughter did when we were there for her birthday. (make sure you tell them about his birthday for all table service reservations, just to be sure) If he likes Pirates, you can sign him up for the Pirates League and get a makeover there. You can purchase birthday ears for him to wear. If he collects pins, you can get him a birthday pin for his lanyard. You can also have in-room celebrations have balloons, cake or various other options put in your resort room when you arrive. Have a magical trip!

Going to be at WDW in 3 weeks to celebrate DS's birthday as well. If you don't mind I won't mind asking about something you mentioned above. "make sure you tell them about his birthday for all table service reservations". Do you mean when you get seated or is this something to be done when you make the reservation. I booked all of our ADR online and didn't notice anything about birthdays, just allergies.

Thanks,

Happy early birthday to your son as well. Well be there in 3 weeks to celebrate my DS's 11th birthday and he is not aware of it as of yet. I have read they may bring out a special dessert for the birthday person. I plan on bring a candle with me and asking if they could put in it his dessert on his birthday day.

I am sure he will have a blast celebrating his birthday at WDW. May be difficult to top next year. ;)

Hi there. You can tell your server but if you call the dining reservation line you can also notate that your celebrating a birthday and they will note it on your reservation as well.

Thank you,

I have done everything online as calling is a long distance expense. The upside is we will having an early ADR breakfast at Hollywood & Vine on his birthday and then dinner at Hollywood & Vine. I am planning on bringing a candle with me and was thinking of speaking with staff at H&V, on the side, about dinner and if possible if they could use the candle with what ever he orders for desert that evening. The other upside is the dinner is a character dinner with Minnie and friends in Halloween costumes. :)
