Brunch comes to Chef Mickey's Starting 5/31

I've been wondering for years why they didn't do this. I mean, anyone with a later ADR makes it brunch anyways. 1900 PF, Cape May and 'Ohana could also make this shift if it proves profitable and feasible with the turn for dinner. Of course, I think they're also doing it because they realize they could make a lot more $ with this plan. Plenty of people already book that last breakfast seating to get a big character buffet around lunch time, but at breakfast prices. So, I'm curious to see how brunch will be priced against breakfast and how they'll handle a person with an 11:25 breakfast ADR with a person with an 11:35 brunch ADR. i.e. they'll both be in there at the same time and surely brunch will cost a bit more than breakfast. Although, I guess it will probably be similar to when Crystal Palace and Tusker change over for lunch.

Argh. I am so torn. I want to go here really bad, but every video I see on YouTube has a gazillion kids running all over the restaurant, unsupervised, and out of control. I am pretty easy going, but maybe a party of two adults needs to look for a different restaurant? We are currently reserved for a 10AM reservation, but I don't know if there are enough bloody marys in the world.........

There are several rooms or areas and some are smaller and quieter than others. But it doesn't really work to request a particular room. They like to fill one, then another, then another in sequence. You could have a long wait if you want to avoid the larger noisier areas.

On what planet is 11:30 to 2:30 considered "brunch"? That's lunch. And, in the back of that window, a late lunch at that. By every definition of the word "brunch," this ain't it.

Brunch - a meal usually taken late in the morning that combines a late breakfast and an early lunch

I see your point but I suspect it'll be to stay in line with the offerings as from the bits I've read I think it's still predominantly a breakfast type thing with added bits you'd class as lunch so they wouldn't want to call it purely lunch I imagine?
I'm happy it's a mixture but that wasn't the reason for us swapping as we were cometely happy with just breakfast but we had taken the latest slot (11.25) to have as much time as we could in MK before and not be rushed but it's irrelevant now as they'll just continue on until 2.30 so we have just made sure we have more Time in the park before we head over... :)

If you look at wedding and social guides for hosting a brunch...the time frame is usually anywhere from 10am to 3pm. I realize it looks funny when Disney labels this time frame as lunch with many restaurants, but it's the combo of the menu (i.e. the inclusion of the breakfast items) and timing that qualifies it as a brunch.

We do breakfast every year at Chef Mickey's (haven't returned for dinner since 2010) What we have always done is book the latest time available for breakfast (usually 10:45) and although there are children there, (I mean it IS a character meal :) ) we've never had problems with unruly children running around.

I booked it but at 38.00 adults seems high to me I made a 12 noon ressie and it says the breakfast fare will still be there adding ins some salads and meats I dont eat. Just seems expensive for Chef Mickeys.

I'm curious as to how this will work as I have an 11:20 breakfast I am keeping for early June. How will they keep the breakfast and brunch guests separate when brunch is at 11:30? I'm fine with just the breakfast food-love the vegetable quiche, but just wondering.
