Castle suite

So I was wondering... If you stay in the castle suite, are you on lockdown from park closing to opening? I mean, surely you couldn't go walking around at 5 am, but at the same time it seems odd if they locked you in at closing.

Also, anyone have photos of the views from the suite?

I had the opportunity to take a tour of the suite a few weeks ago and this was a question that was inevitably asked. An example scenario was a guest who might be a smoker since you can't smoke in the suite.

There is a tiny office adjacent to the entry foyer immediately to your right as you step out of the elevator where a concierge is in residence full-time whenever anyone is staying in the suite. If it's necessary to leave the suite, the concierge will escort the guest. They described access as somewhat limited to the park, but wouldn't get into specific questions about where a guest in the suite could or could not go.

Here are a couple of shots I took when visiting the suite.

Sitting Room
The windows on the left look out over Liberty Square and those on the right look out over Fantasyland. Since the glass is all beveled and colored you don't really have a clear view out like you might have with a normal window. As a result, I didn't really bother taking any shots out the window.

I am assuming that there is still no way to book a night there, correct?

The way it was described to us, it can only be used by someone that wins some sort of a contest or similar. I'm only speculating on this but suspect it's some sort of complex zoning thing about the location being within the theme park (which is not zoned for normal housing) instead of a traditional resort that creates the constraint.

I was there the weekend that they did the Christmas parade taping and there was a rumor that Justin Bieber had stayed their while he was in town for the taping of that show. When asked, the concierge told us that he had not stayed there but they had used the suite as a sort of 'green room' for some of the performers.

Bieber stayed at AKL.

The Castle Suite is "technically" a hotel room, and therefore the Guests cannot be "locked" inside. If they want to leave the Suite (ie to smoke), they are able to, but the Concierge will always accompany them. They aren't allowed to stray far from the Castle, either. The MK is quite busy with trucks, workers, etc. overnight and its not safe to have Guests wandering around.

What if they allowed Guests staying in the Suite the ability to walk around MK in the wee hours of the morning, or if it's unsafe to do so, you could be escorted! That'd be so flippin cool! Almost like a backstage VIP tour

Oh my gosh - I'm so jealous. Thanks for that link, I missed her story the first time around. I want to stay in the castle someday so much! Just like everyone else does. :D

I never thought about the fact that the suite is not technically a hotel room and that there would be legalities. This thread has made so much more sense of the fact that the castle is rarely used. I couldn't understand why there weren't more ways to stay in it. I guess I'll keep entering contests!

That's awesome. Unfortunately nothing about going out into the park.

In the first hour or so that the park is clear, the Guests, if they REALLY want to, could be escorted quickly around the park to see what it is like. They also could take pictures in the empty Hub with their red Cinderella Castle Suite robes on, for a once in a lifetime photo (same in the morning before park open.) They also have the option (if 16 or older) to see the tunnel portion of the Keys to the Kingdom tour.
