Yeah I love the NES roms, my friend told me about them last year, spent a whole week downloading tons and tons.

I wanted to get an old NES cause I sold mine when I got my Super Nes years and years ago, then he told me about the Roms and they take like a couple of seconds to download, I definately recommend them to anyone who loves the old NES games.

Dragonsaber and Drangonlance I think...I know what you are talking about ;) The arcade version was great..and then they made a NES version that really tore it apart..heheh

And yes...I play pong too (Tho emulation of it is only possible thru remakes, as for both legal and hardware reasons you could NEVER truely emulate the hardware...oddly enough)

Some of my favorite "non-pc" games (since my top 10 video games of all time are on PC)...

Rygar
Contra
Metroid
Castlevania (1 and 2)
Zelda (of course)
Galaga
Pac-Man (I will whoop anyones butt in this if they test me)
Super Punch out! (arcade version)
Space Harrier
Breakout (Atari 2600 baby!)

Im sure there is more..but my brain is still a bit fried....

I think Dragon Lance was the old RPG series - didn't appear in the arcades, just on PC and NES.

Yeah - gotta love emulation...have a good gig or two of games for every system I don't have :)

Yes..you are right..it was Dragon Spirit...release in 1987 by Namco (arcade)..they also made a sequal called Dragon Saber in 1990

What? No one had an Odyssey? I remember playing KC Munchkin up until Atari sued and got them stripped off the shelves.

Odyssey
Atari Jaguar
N64

and I guess you can count the Commodore 64. :)

Popkid..I built a mame cabinet last year..i LOVE it...

I loaded it up with all the games..even has a coin box..its a converted Street Fighter 2 cabinet which i bought from some kid for 300 bucks (I totallllly ripped him off)...

If you need any tips...let me know...

www.happcontrols.com is a great place to get parts

You could also use an X-Arcade or Hotrod SE to cover the controller end of it.,.but its more advantageous to build your own (the one i build has 2 trackballs, 2 aircraft joysticks, as well as the standard 6 button hand joysticks)...

All in alll you shouldnt end up spending more than 500 on it (PC not included)...

That reminds me...if anyone knows ANYTHING about the Naomi Hardware (the same stuff found in a dreamcast..only for arcade), let me know. I got a hold of a busted Naomi board and I am trying to use parts from a dreamcast to fix it, but NO ONE (outside of sega that is) has any documentation on it. I have 5 dreamcasts (50 bucks a piece retail) and already killed 2 :(

Where'd ya' git it????

Could you Please tell me the name of the program, & where you got it, IF you're allowed to tell me here? I wouldn't want you violating any Forum rules by doing so. I remember the old Tron arcade game, but not a video game version. I LOVED it and the 1st Star Wars arcade game, but I liked Paperboy & Donkey Kong quite a bit as well. I liked Donkey Kong Jr. better, even if I wasn't as good at it.

My brother & I got a video game called "Tank Combat" (or something like that) for X-Mas one year. It came out shortly after the old Pong game, & was a small console with 2 pairs of Joysticks. It had about 6 or 8 tank combat games, like the Atari 2600 cartridge "Combat" had, once IT came out. We'd just about played it to death when we finally got an Atari! Back then, an Atari with ONE game was around $200.00!! Nowadays, you can get them at garage sales with 15 or 20 games, for around $20.00.

In late '83 I got my first computer, a Commodore 64. A couple months later, I got a TAPE drive for it! (All together now! "Oooooohh!!"  ) Unless you experienced loading a game on a C-64, from a tape drive, I don't wanna hear ANY crying from some poor little baby, about how long a game takes to load these days. :D After I'd had it about 6 months, I finally got a 5 & 1/4" floppy drive, which made it possible for me to play Zork 1 at home! I'd been playing it for a month or 2 at the local vo-tech school, before class.

I have more games for the C-64 (and for that matter, for the PC!!), than I will EVER live to play! I miss Autoduel, Wizard's Crown (I think that was the name of it. :veryconfu ), Wasteland, and even M.U.L.E., for the C-64. So MANY games, so LITTLE time!

Thanks in Advance for your help, CalDisney. :sohappy:

C ya' later!
