My husband just reminded me that if we leave on 12/28 from Magic Kingdom for lunch at Whispering canyon that there is a chance we can't get back in. Do you think that's a huge concern?

I don't think I would chance it. Things have been wacky.

What about Crystal Palace? That's one of our favorites for lunch. Gives you a nice break inside the parks. It's buffet, though.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
With Liberty Tree out until November, Italian at Epcot and buffet haters in the family I don't know what to do!
Eat QS. That is also part of the deluxe as TS/QS are interchangeable. There is lots of great QS options in MK. BOG, Columbia Harbor House, Casey's, etc etc.
When we have Deluxe we still eat at least 1 QS meal per day and still did not lose money by having Deluxe. :)

We already know what we want for the QS and snacks haha, and we do have the regular dining plan, but my brothers wouldn't be ok with 2 qs in one day. I already tried that so we could book a 2 credit in Epcot. If I book Crystal and Liberty Tree opens before we go can I switch?

Sorry I was thinking of someone else thought you had Deluxe lol. Yes you could always switch. Also we have done 2 QS in one day before but understand your brothers not wanting to and you want to make everyone happy. Lol LTT is scheduled to be back open in November so you should be fine. Like others said they will not release the reservations until they know for sure it will be open. :)

If my brothers weren't going it would be so much easier! They are high maintenance eaters.
Lol! Even for high maintenance eaters there is so many delicious QS options and decent buffets at Disney. Their loss! Haha I hope you can find something that works for everyone. :)

thank you so much! I think I'll book Crystal and cancel if I can get Liberty Tree. None of this would be as issue if BOG was even a possibility for that week lol.

Your welcome. You should have no problem (shouldn't) getting BOG for lunch if you book that first thing in the morning on your 180th day. You may not but lunch is easier than booking dinner. We have never had problems getting Lunch but never went the week your going the busiest of the year. Lol If you can't get it then book CP and wait for LTT. :)

I was going to suggest Whispering Canyon Cafe as well. The 28th may not be as crowded as the 25th or 26th, so if you do a late lunch, you should be able to get back in. It is definitely worth eating there for the wonderful BBQ!

^^^^^^ This or the Plaza nice simple food, nothing out of this world, but good basic food in a nice setting

ADRs are all equal if you are on first thing so BOG is not out of the question. Just very popular. However, lunch there is still considered Quick Service and not Table Service so you may lose out on value if booking lunch. And you can always book something and then cancel it if Liberty Tree availability opens.

Sanna (my niece's choice)
Liberty Tree (none of us have eaten here and am a little worried by the Thanksgiving style describtion)
O'hana (daughter's choice)
Via Napoli (never eaten here. I've seen a lot of good things about the pizza but what about the other dishes)
50's prime time (my nephew's choice)
O'hana is amazing! A must-do in my opinion
Via Napoli is great, especially the pizza, but the other options are good too
50s Prime Time for me is more about the experience than the food, but it's a fun time
Also, with kids that age Chef Mickey's is a great option, fun character interaction and the food is pretty decent for a buffet

I'd listen to the nephew... 50's Prime Time can be a blast with a group of people together especially with the right CM server really getting into the act. And there is a decent variety of choices even for the picky eater in the group.

You should be alright to get back into the park after your lunch at Whispering Canyon. We were down in WDW from the Dec 25 to Jan 2 last year. We took a break every day except for Dec 31st and never had a problem getting back into the parks.

I believe that when they "close the park" its only to non resort guests...

Liberty Tree is one of my favorites! Great food, and a ton of it. If you do decide to try it out, just a heads up: I've been trying to book since our ADR window opened on June 5th and haven't had luck yet. The refurbishment, I guess. Hoping the reservations open up again soon!!!! :D
Thank you thank you thank you! For the info on Liberty Tree. I have tried multiple times to get an ADR without luck. The CM I spoke with said they were already booking for after the refurb, but evidently that's not true. Good info to know. I have CP for backup just in case! Gracias!
