Pre-Trip 8 days in WDW with in-laws! scooters in future? holy crap!

Well here we are, 73 days out of a trip planned two years ago. It started with just five of us going to Contemporary garden wing. What a great deal we got, then my daughter decided she wanted to go and skip 7 days of high school, she is a freak with school, a good thing, the other three kids are in elementary, so they dont really care. So we looked around, and decided to try the Royal rooms at POR, new rooms with a theme and affordable. Our last trip we stayed at CBR, but had a bug issue and got upgraded to Grand Floridian, WOW! But anyway, we thought CBR was a bit beat up and decided to move on to POR, as we have visited there, stayed at POFQ, and really love the grounds, but the rooms sold us. Have you see the pics? And thanks to Evilqueen for posting pics and comments on the resort, as well as Real Madhatter. Now we have two rooms booked to fit us all, great! Me and the wife can have a room to ourselves and the kids can all share. Let me give the cast now, myself Jimmi, wife Joanna, Lexi (15), Nikki (11), Sal (10), and princess Taylor (8). So now we are all booked, ADRS are made. The high lights are Narcoossees', Mama Melrose Fantasmic package, Tepan Edo, Ohanas, Cape May (breakfast), and Trex. Might split somewhere to get another TS, but up in the air. If at worst, we plan Wolfgang Marketplace or earl of sandwich. Who doesnt like flatbreads or meatloaf?!!! Now comes the interesting part, my in laws want to come. "Hey, you have an extra bed, can we come?" Why not.

Here we are 51 days out, time is flying by now, and we have had a crappy rainy summer here. No pool time, so looking forward to old mans island. Hows the pool bar there? So today my wife won four more tickets to Kennywood, this will be our warm up trip for WDW. Get the kids excited for rides, as this will be the first time that the youngest, Taylor, will be able to ride everything. She is so excited for Rockin Roller coaster, and Sum of all Thrills. Me, bring on Tower of terror at night time, I love it when the doors open up and I can see the whole park.

Monday September 16th, a day of relaxation. Sleep in and use the pools. This is a kids pick day. No parks planned. Thinking of a water park, just not sure which one. I have been to Blizzard Beach and it was a hoot, but i hear Typhoon Lagoon is better, is this true? I know Blackthidot would know, as he is a water junkie. So what ever we do that day, who cares, because we have ressies for Kona Cafe, one of my favorite places. The sushi here is awesome, especially the volcano roll. After dinner, we plan on sitting at the pool bar and watching wishes, what a way to end the night. September 17, off to my our favorite character breakfast at Cape May Cafe. We really love this place. Great food, great character interaction, and never too craowded. Then it's a beautiful walk to EPCOT. If you have never walked to the Gateway entrance, you should, because it is so relaxing and sets the mood for the day. Head over to future world, get some FP'S for Soarin and Test Track, and get my first beer of the day, Sam Adams Octoberfest. Now I am ready to take it all on. We have no dinner reservation for this night, so we plan on eating around world showcase and snacking on everything, plus drinking everything. This time I am going to Le Cava for a tequila flight. This will be our last day, so it will end with a bang, and everyone is lookiing forward to Illuminatios one last time. I will probably ever go out of my way to ride the monorail one last time as well, taking my time back to the resort, i know it seems strange, but that is what I love most. So lets get some pics of the cast.

Well, here we are 41 days out and we are really looking forward to returning home. Especially with the crappy summer we have had here, 16 days straight rain, cooler temps in the 70's, and no pool time. Cant wait to get to POR and go swimming already, the kids are looking forward to this and the hot weather. It will be our summer for 8 days. What does everyone think of the pools at this resort? Pool bar?

Another crappy day here in ohio, rainy and a cool 72 degrees. So what do we do to get ready for WDW, watch youtube videos and build a Disney puzzle. What do others do to get ready for WDW and put that excitement back in the air? I am also going to make a special meal in homage of Disney food inspired from California grill, my favorite place, but will unfortunately be closed while we are there, but I have Narcoossees,:D In the next couple of weeks, most of my dinner specials at work will be Disney inspired, and only a handful of customers will recognize this. I think its great when someone says " hey, that dish tonight is named after a place a WDW, isn't it?" And that sparks some great conversations and gets me through the days. I even use the Lapu Lapu drinks on certain nites, and it is amazing the responses it gets. I cant wait to get back the the World and get some food and drink pics, and reinspire myself once again to recreate the awesomeness of Disney creativity, especially some of the deserts.

30 days until we are back home! but until then, we have a one day trip planned to Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh PA. This is a trial run for the kids to see what rides they will, want, and can do at WDW. For me, I just like the coasters, but will try some of the crazy spinner crap so I can get ready for Mad Tea Cups, which little Princess Taylor really wants to do, and being me, will just take a dramamine and suck it up. Why oh why me?:arghh: Looking at our ADR, and only one has us somewhat leary, and that is tepan Edo. It's just a typical hibachi. Any suggestions for something better at EPCOT?

Now my in laws are really cool people, old school italian, and have a great sense of humor. I can talk about anything in front of them, and have:rolleyes:. Now they are a little beat up, walk slow, and have their problems, so we are getting them transport at our leaving airport to the gate, and with 4 kids in tow, I know one of them is going to ask for a free ride. Me, I just dont want it to escalate to the parks with ecvs or scooters, kids get lazy, and all the BS that comes with it. We are not one of those families who abuse the system, and will not, just take our time and take it all in. Just bring on the buses already, I can smell them! It's time to get out of here. Time for a neew camera too!

now I am really excited, bought my first DSLR camera! Cant wait to practice it! It is not something great, just a rebel canon t3, but it is a start. Food pics, fireworks, and food pics. I know, a pos is fine for food, but not really, and fireworks, no comparison. Time to play and see what a reall camera, even though low end, can do. It is time for me to start WDW pics that count. Even though they all count, but I have been inspired by others. trip of new reflections!

21 days out! And a great announcement, California Grill will be open, ha is our favorite place to eat, so we are definitely going to try and get ressies here for our anniversary. It's not just the food, but the views, absolutely amazing! And I know my father in law would appreciate seeing fire works from here on the roof top. But hey, I have Narcoossees' as a backup, not all that bad:D Started playing with my new DSLR camera, and I know that my pis will be way better, I can't wait to food it out:eek: So last week e went to Kennywood park, a small family oriented amusement park, so good coasters and spinny rides, not my favorite, but I did it. Bring on the Mad tea Cups. This was a pretrip for our youngest taylor and to see what she would like, it's all good, coasters, spinny rides, and dark rides, no fear in that kid. It was also a test for me to see if I still had it for the fear, the fear of being spun in countless circles, ughhhh:bawling: I cant wait for TOT, now that is my kind of thrill! Drop me anywhere over and over, give me the views.

15 days to go! Got our CG ressies for the 13 to watch the fireworks, as we are not doing MNSSHP, this will allow us a great dinner and all together with some spectacular views, really excited. PAPA will love this. We also signed up for MDE and made FP+ plans, guaranteeing us a few attractions. This was a toss up, as we like the old system, but threw that to the wind just to try it, and hey, we get magic bands. I just hope it is not a hassle. After doing this FP+ thing, it does not seem so bad so far, as we picked our attractions, and they seem to be rather convenient, instead of the lets hope and run scheme we are used to. Only time will tell. So many new things this trip, and hopefully it will lead to a great trip and report. I am a disney geek, hence I am here on this site. This trip will be an adventure none the less, and hopefully an inspiration for others who travel to WDW to get excited about WDW. We are going in with a whole new outlook of a new WDW, and will provide honest reviews. It was alot of fun to pick out our Magic bands and and what names to put on them. With all the negatives we read about the new system on here, we hope to change that, and so far so good. It is looking like the trip of a lifetime!. In-laws ready, MDExperience, DSLR, and California Grill, everything that is WDW to me. Maybe I am just ready togo, but it all seems to be coming together for the better. Damn i am hungry after looking at food pics and the new menu at CG, snack time! Until tomorrow, or Tom Morrow!

It has come, two weeks away! Today is my only day off in two weeks, so I will be playing with the camera and getting ready for some awesome pics of everything, especially food. Doing the Magic band test seems really fun, and we are excited for it. We are trying to find a way to do Narcoossees' and California grill, because Narcoossees' has the better menu in my opinion. I mean, lobster and filet/strip steak, come on, that's hard to beat! Which one would you choose, great views with good food, or good views with great food? The debate begins in our family. These are problems i can handle.

9 days left, single digits! Got my head phones on listening to sorcerer radio and getting into the spirit. I see all the Halloween decorations are up, look great, a new villains show at MK, and Magic bands. Thats right, we got magic bands. Why not, it gives us guaranteed FP'S, plus some really cool Magic Bands. It was fun to personalize them, kids pick out their colors, names, and papa and nana are really confused as to what the heck these things are!
I will take some pics in a few mins, really interested in trying these things out, especially with the My Disney Experience app, I thought I would totally hate this, planning and all, but it is not too bad so far. Let's try the new DSLR, be back in a few.

One week left, wow, need slow down just a little. This is my last day off until we leave, and what a day it has been. close the pool up for the year, summer is over here unfortunately, bu we never really had one anyways. really looking forward to seeing parades and fireworks for once, something we always seem to skip for some reason. Not sure why, but I am really looking forward to eating at Tangerine Cafe, I love that place, probably because it is different food compared to Americanized stuff all over the parks. We also really enjoy Lotus blossom to get the beef noodle bowl, fantastic. Damn I'm hungry now. My brain is in total Disney mode now, work is the last thing on my mind, which sucks, because I have to put out a new menu by the time I leave, not a big deal as I have been working on it for months, but the design and layout is taking more time than I thought. Oh well, bring on WDW!!!!!!!!!! Get ready for an amazing trip report.
