the Atlantis excursion is 169 pp but I can buy tickets over at Atlantis for 110 pp although they are not guaranteed to be selling tickets by the time I get there. Do I pay the extra money to make sure I can get in. and if so do you pay in full for excursions when you book them. I have a $200 ship board credit I believe and would like to apply this to the price of the excursion can this be done?
What time is the earliest you can get off the boat at a stop and how early can you get off when back at Port Canaveral. we are renting a car and I would like to give them an accurate time I will be needing car.
is there a benefit of paying your tips ahead of time? or just to have another piece of your trip already taken care of?
at midnight it will be my 75 days til. Can I check in right at midnight?
Thanks for any and all input!!!

another question. The beer mug. It says instead of carrying the mug take advantage of the beer token. Do you get a token with the mugs?

1. Correct. You can pay for the Atlantis Aquaventure admission at Atlantis for the $110 per person but, no, it's not guaranteed that there will be availability. If they've sold a lot of excursions plus have a high occupancy at their resort the will either not sell the Aquaventure admissions or strongly limit them. Remember, Disney's $169 per person includes fuss-free transportation to/from as well as vouchers for lunch. I can tell you from being there just a burger without fries or a drink runs about $12. Add fries and drink and you're at about $20 for lunch per person. Also, the drinks are free refills at beverage stations.

2. No, you do not pay for excursions at the time of booking. They are charged to your shipboard account the day of the excursion. This answers your next question...

3. Yes, your $200 shipboard credit will apply to the total of all charged on your shipboard account. It will apply to the price of the excursion...or any other shipboard charges you may have. Whatever charges are above & beyond your shipboard credit will be taken care of by whatever form of payment you list on your shipboard account.

4. The earliest time you can get off a ship in any given port varies according to the all-ashore time for each port. All-ashore time will be listed on the front of each day's personal Navigator, the schedule of events & ship's happenings that's distributed to every stateroom usually the night before.

5. Generally, express debarkation for passengers who are carrying off all their luggage & did not leave it out the night before to be delivered to the terminal for you starts around 7:30 a.m. There will be a call for it when the ship clears customs and the gangways open.

6. We always pre-pay our gratuities because it's one less thing to us. Total personal preference. If it gets towards the end of your cruise and you decide you want to adjust the gratuity amounts this can be done at Guest Services. We like to bring a few hundred dollars in cash minimum for incidentals when not on the ship and to add to the tip envelopes (vs. going to Guest Relations to increase the amounts). We've never felt the need to decrease from the minimums.

7. Day late and a dollar short on the last question. Yes, you can check-in and start playing with the excursions at 12:01 a.m. Eastern time. Hopefully you tried and found you could! :D

another question. The beer mug. It says instead of carrying the mug take advantage of the beer token. Do you get a token with the mugs?

Sorry, no experience with the beer mug. Honestly, at the cost of the beer mug PLUS the small amount of price difference between the smaller & larger draft beers I think you'd have to consume a looooot of beer to make the mug worthwhile. On the shorter cruises I think it's a lot harder to get into the green on the beer mug. You'd have to consume a lot of beer in a short amount of time. That's only my opinion and I fully admit that opinion is one of a lightweight. LOL!

I have a tipping question(s). This time around, my wife and I will be doing a three-nighter with one of our nights at Palo. Should I still give my servers the vouchers for all three nights? or, can I ask for the amount of that night be taken off? Would that also seem too penny pinching if I did that? Next, how much do you tip for Palo being as you are paying extra to get in anyway? Any advice would be appreciated.

@EOD K9, last September when Tracey & I did the 3-night Dream for our anniversary we didn't eat in the MDRs at all for dinner. We never met our assigned servers to our knowledge. We planned the trip that way to shake things up and do things differently so it wasn't due to last-minute decisions. That said, we STILL prepaid our gratuities to the MDR team and left them with the minimums. Our reasoning was because whether or not we sat at our assigned table with our assigned servers, our table was still set aside for us. Our table was not given to someone else and the servers didn't move onto another table that would produce the tips they're on the ship to earn. That's what we justified to ourselves for leaving the money (which isn't much on the short cruises). We left the money as the thanks for them being there and making that table available to us...like how there's always a spot available at Gramma's house or Mom's house. KWIM?

Disney does state that the $20 pp upcharge at Palo includes the gratuity. In all my reading and info sorting I've learned the amount the server receives from that $20 comes to about $5. We felt the level of service we received as well as the quality of food we enjoyed far exceeded $10 total for both of us. We left an additional gratuity. ;)

Both situations are up to each passenger's discretion so don't take it like I'm saying "This is what we did and it's what you're supposed to do." That's not it at all. Everyone has their own perspective which isn't right or wrong. It's just different. This is just how we approached both situations. Believe me, it was something we discussed and weighed carefully what we wanted to do. :D

@stalkingmickey Our first MDR on our first cruise was RP. We thought the food was great and had no issues. AP was our next and blew us away. When we ate at EG, it was Pirate Night and had different fare, which we weren't too crazy about. We researched our options for the regular menu the next night at EG and were not impressed. I asked our server if we can have the courses from AP and he obliged. We got the ambiance we wanted as well as the food. It is of course your call as to where you want to eat, but part of the fun of the MDRs is the location and setting. Don't be afraid to try something new.
