7.2 Earthquake in Baja California, Rattles SoCal.

All rides at Disneyland and DCA have been shut down for safety inspections, that is routine after any earthquake. From the OCRegister:

All rides have been shut down at Disneyland for inspection, says KABC/Channel 7. Park employees are investigating whether people have been trapped on rides.” Initial reports that people have been trapped in elevators at Disneyland apparently are not true.

the 6.9 earthquake originated in Mexicali, Baja California (Mexico) just south of the border. No damages or injures have been reported yet. I live about 15 miles north of DL and it was pretty long with a smooth rolling motion. No jolts, it was pretty gentle.

EDIT - According to CBS 2, the earthquake has been upgraded to a 7.2

Oh ok, I saw that Disneyland was a trending on twitter. A lot of the tweets mentioned people trapped in elevators and rides. I hope thats not true, sounds pretty awful.

From the other thread:

And no injuries and no damage was reported at the Disneyland Resort says Suzi Brown, director of media relations at the Disneyland Resort. Protocol dictates that all attractions are shut off as soon as an earthquake is detected. All attractions are checked for safety and are brought back online once deemed safe.
Someone was stuck in an elevator at Star Tours in Disneyland. Brown says that was quickly resolved.

I'm now watching from my deck as the Disneyland fireworks go off as I type this. All is well in Anaheim after the Easter Earthquake.
