5th Gate Announced for 50th Anniversary?

This post is purely speculative and I don't pretend to have any insider knowledge whatsoever. With all of the announcements made at D23 2017, many of which seemed to be geared towards major enhancements and/or additions that will ready in time for 2021, I'm wondering what big announcements are in store for 2019 and the 50th anniversary in 2021? I could envision D23 2019 being focused on major 50th anniversary event and entertainment announcements. By the time 2021 rolls around, all 4 of the existing theme parks will have had major additions/expansions over the preceding decade (or so). So wouldn't the 50th anniversary be the perfect time to announce a 5th gate? Just curious if others think this could happen or is this just my wishful thinking?

I'm relatively new to the forum so if this is a well-beaten dead horse I apologize. I was mainly interested in thoughts on the timing with such a huge anniversary looming. But if this is same old same old, then please disregard.

Oh I didn't take any comments personally. I did do a search for 5th gate and didn't see anything recent but maybe I didn't look closely enough. Anyway, I'm happy with/excited by some of the changes coming in the next few years so I'll just take joy in that. Maybe someday a 5th gate will happen but if not, I'll still remain a loyal fan.

I don't see a true 5th gate anytime in the near future, but if the Star Wars hotel works out I think we might see more of this sort of "boutique" experiences.

I think many of the announcements will be sold as 50th anniversary presents.

I don't expect any 5th gate any time soon. Certainly not in the form of a gated theme park experience akin to the existing four.

I honestly don't think Disney would want to go with a 5th gate. Trying to do 5 parks in 1 trip would probably push more people away then actually bring in. It's already hard enough trying to figure out time for everything I want to do for a week, I couldn't imagine trying to add another park to the mix. Also the MK is the only park that actually has a lot of attractions that I'm sure they can put a 5th park worth of attractions into the other 3 parks before needing to expand further.

This doesnt count the hotels that are close by to DS that are occupied by Disney ticket holders. Now I know they arent all filled to total occupancy but there are times its hard to find a room. Experiencing the crowds and lines... yes its time for a new park to take care of the numbers of guests.

5th gate will only happen once they can recoup monies being spent up till about 2025. They got 2 semi-failing parks that are currently in transition and a few hotels yet to build. 5th gate seems a long way off.

That's not how a new park would work. New park brings MORE people that form BIGGER crowds and make LONGER lines. You're not just going to spread the same number of guests over a larger number of attractions, you're going to bring in loads more people. And those people will continue to behave as they do now, specifically they will disproportionately visit the Magic Kingdom, further worsening that park's congestion problem.
