5 years is a long time?

its has been 5 years since my family has been wdw. need help with all that has change in that period. going dec. 12th me,wife,kids(3). i used to be on the forums all the time and know how knowledgable everybody on here is. so has there been alot of chages or iam ready for about the same. :xmas:

WDW has gone through alot of changes in the past 5 years. I think you will be surprised at all the new/refurbished attractions. Have a magical trip to the world!

Yes audio systems and general refurbs have happened a lot, upgrades in things, I think the Seas with Nemo is new as of 5 years, Captain EO, missing some, often a year or two doesnt see a ton of changes but 5 will definately have some new things. Have a great trip!

A LOT has changed. Walt Disney World is actually called "Universal Orlando" now, and they have this awesome new Harry Potter ride.

Oh you have to go and see UOE in Epcot. It has been totally re-themed and updated with cutting edge technology and a film that does not have scratches....Oh wait that was just a dream, never mind

Seriously though, I am sure a good bit has changed and it will not seem stale to you. I like to take my digs at UOE whenever I can. Enjoy the trip and say hi to Jack Sparrow when you are there!!!!:wave:

Pirates of the Caribbean as mentioned, Captain Jack Sparrow and Dave Jones (Not from the Monkeys the guy with the locker) have been added.
Haunted Mansion updated
Space Mountain refurbished
Monsters Inc. Attraction added to Tomorrow Land, not sure if this was there in 2005
EPCOT:
Finding Nemo ride added to The Living Seas
Space Ship Earth changes on the descent.
Honey I shrunk the Audience replaced by Captain EO
Via Napoli restaurant in the Italian Pavilion
MGM:
Now called DHS (Disney Hollywood Studios)
Jedi Training Academy added outside of Star Wars Attraction.
More street actors
I’m sure there’s much more I’m not thinking of at the moment.

Great list, but I am suprised no one is mentioning EE at AK. It is most notable change, and is an E-ticket that opened in 2006.

At Animal Kingdom, they have added Expedition Everest (a roller coaster) and Finding Nemo the musical. Both are great additions to the park.
The menus at your favorite restaurants may have changed also. Check those out before you go.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "a lot" has changed since 2005. EE and Nemo at AK. American Idol and Toy Story Mania at DHS. Monsters Inc at MK. Everything else is fairly minor.

The last time I went there wasn't an AK park!! :shrug: it was back in 1996. Now I have a trip planned for Sept 2011 but to tell you the truth it kinda freaks me out cause I feel like I don't know the place anymore. So sad!
