Aladar's mom didn't die in the opening though.....that was another dino that was killed by the Carnatour. He was just stolen from his nest.

Children always want to know "why?" That's why parenting can be difficult at times.

We are all going to die.
Everyone we love is going to die.

Although Americans try to deny it, we will all die.

Children will die.
Children will have a parent die.
Children will have a sibling die.

It happens, and movies and books can help parents explain it, and help kids understand it.
